  • Lots of remake huh. It was a giant story.

  • Great presentation! Thank you!!

  • He forgot to mention Dragon Ball. He said Pokemon but not Dragon Ball. He's crazy

  • wow what a packed house ..... that crowd is fucking wild lol

  • Sure is hating a lot for a Godzilla "fan". Why does the term "porn" have to apply to anything that is put on display? It's a stupid trend.

  • ah....ah...ah...ah...ah...ah...ah

  • Godzilla is always the KING!

  • Wow its nice to see some one who sees the intellectual side to Godzilla.

  • Love his book.

  • This guy's book on a subject he professes to love is often condescending and there were factual errors in it too. He has made a name for himself by using Godzilla's name and appeal, and he should be ashamed. He is no Godzilla expert, just a crackpot college professor...not a rare breed these days.

  • I actually ordered Tsutsui's book "Godzilla on my Mind", it's a very good book. His speech here may seem boring, but he's a college professor, so wuddya think?

  • very interesting, but BORING

  • this guy is so f*****g uh uh uh uh pain! as well as those that repeat the phrase.....know what im sayin..know what im sayin..know what im sayin. someone smack him over the head !!!!!!!---no wat um sayin????????

  • Uh.

  • uh, uh, uh, uh.......

  • Ok how is this guy going ''uh'' ever other word any better than a 12 year old girl saying ''like'' all the time... I cant listen to him I cant stand hearing the way he tries to speak.

  • dude this guy doesent know his godzilla he does not die in final wars

  • THANK YOU+++++!!! I'm glad someone finaly said something! But I don't believe this guy said it was supposed to have killed Godzilla, and he couldn't have seen it by the time he made this speech cause the american dvd came out in December of 2005 when this speech was in early may.

  • @theetials lol finally thank u

  • ah,, ah,, aahm, ahm I, I ahm

  • Wish I waas there!

  • Nothing to do with the video, but how didi you do to upload sucha a long video in youtube?

    thanks!!

    melanie

  • A very thorough analysis on what Godzilla represents to post war Japan as well as his blatant decline of mature audiences. He does highlight an important aspect of Godzilla, that is he is a symbol of innumerable themes that can not be defined in a concise statement or definition. Never again throughout the series are there serious pervasive overtones that personify and relate a poignant message much like the original.

  • why are the people so dead looking? I'd be into it. I love Godzilla.

  • godzilla didn't die in final wars...

but still very good speech anyway.

  • ummmmmmm, i'm just watching cause i love godzilla, not cause of proffesors. unless it indiana jones

  • I'm gonna be doing a speech about Godzilla, so this will really help me. Thank you!

  • A wonderful, in-depth lecture. Godzilla is rarely given such a mature and serious insight as this. A+ to Mr. Tsutsui, and I hope he keeps up the excellent work.

  • "Critics have judged the Godzilla films to be artistically lacking, intellectually unchallenging, and idiologically hollow"

But that's what makes him and his movies so loveable!!! God bless Godzilla and the man in the rubber suit that brings him to life.

  • I saw Prof. Tsutsui give this lecture in New York last year. Fantastic lecture and EXTREMELY nice guy.

  • @Erecadere Yep. i was at KU while he was there and after taking one of his classes, i made a point to sign up for everything he taught. He's fantastic.
