  • does it show you how to use appeggios when soloing?

  • Does this course cater for left handed guitar players? Is it both for acoustic and electrics? Importantly does it teach some metal techniques? Is the Gibson course the same as this or a newer version?

  • @TheELDUDERINO76 I am also interested in this

  • how much of this set cover jazz

  • Is it going to teach you lead guitar??

  • @jamestakeshi yes this course does teach lead guitar techniques.

  • @joshg01 You ever tried that video guitar game "Rocksmith"? Is the "Learn and Master Guitar" better than the guitar video game? That Learn & Master Guitar CD Set Must Cost A Fortune!

  • @kjchicago1 I've never tried rocksmith but I have tried a similar game and those work OK. This course doesn't really cost a fortune considering it is a year or more worth of lessons. If you were to take lessons from a real world instructor you would burn up the money you would spend on this course in a few weeks. I can tell you that the quality of the instruction you will get with Learn and Master is probably much better than you would get with a game or even with most other instructors.

  • Hey Josh, or anybody out there..... Do you have a good series of "lesson books" that can take a beginner to a pro? Anything out there like that from the same author?

  • @casschnur I don't specifically know of any just book lessons but this video course does include a book to practice with as well. There are also sites out there with video subscriptions. You can find some of those on my website

  • I have downloaded the Iphone app but I would love to have the actual pack :(

    Good review

  • This is the best i've ever found, you can start playin straiht away. Tis is 1st place in my opinion and then second is Lick Library. With this it's step by step and you have all lessions in one for one lump fee. With lick library they cost £25-£30 a dvd coverin loads of subjects, but don't point out wich dvd to start from. Mostly coverin pentatonic scale. I sujest you start with this doin lessions 1-8, until you do the pentatoniuc scale, then just start usin lick library aswell!! - 100% Sound

  • Good review mate, very helpful for others to get a first hand info about the product. :) I have 'liked' your video.

  • @deepakeapen78 Thanks! I know I really liked this course. I am still going through it and learning new things.

  • I got this course too, still haven't started because I've yet to buy my electric guitar and don't want to start with my old crappy acoustic, so I'm waiting for now. I didn't know why Gibson continued talking about this course, today I found out there's actually a new version I guess sponsored by Gibson or what not

  • @JuanKiDiaz Yes! They actually reshot the guitar course... Not that it wasn't good before but they really wanted to updated because these days HD video is becoming more and more common. So they reshot it in HD and changed a few things that they had been wanting to change. They just made a great course better!

  • @joshg01 yup! well I guess the original one will have to do because that's the one I got! I've seen some of the DVDs and it looks amazing, Mr Krenz has got quite the teaching skills down! I'm very close now to getting a brand new Les Paul [copy] and will start the course I guess next January. Thanks for your review :-)

  • Is it okay to depend on the dvds alone on this course? and not on the 100 page book?

  • @ppmmaa0007 I find it easier to use the book for reference when I am going through the course. However, you actually could depend on the DVD's since most of the exercises (tab and musical notation) are shown on the screen during each session.

  • Question: I have seen many reviews such as this one and all of them PRAISE the course as amazing. I'm trying to determine whether or not these are legitimate reviews, or just people trying to earn commission through the affiliate program.

  • @shipleyshipster I would say that I fall in both categories. While my goal is to ultimately make commissions off of my reviews and site, I could have promoted many different products as the top program but I chose this one because in my opinion it is the best. I wouldn't take my word for it though. Check out the forums on Legacy's site and see what other owners of the course (non-affiliates) have to say about it. I'll add the link to the video description for you.

  • im thinking on buying this program with the guitar but im not sure ...do you think i should?

  • I have been using this course for a few months now. I began knowing very little about playing..

    It IS a good course.

  • @Notlib1 I agree!! I especially like the extra practice times you get with the expanded edition (which is the only version they sell now). It's like having someone taking the time to practice with you and walk you through every step.

  • thxs for the review!!! im thinking about ordering this course for my self!!!

  • @GuitarLordChels Did you order the course?? If so I'd love to know what you think.

  • @joshg01 yeah i did ive had it for about a week and a half! um its pretty awesome and im on session 6 based off the skills i already had. i really needed a brush up on sus and min7'th chords! so im progressing and learning to read music. which is awesome. i haven't enjoyed this much success in a really long time!

  • @GuitarLordChels That's great!! When I first learned to play guitar I didn't learn to read music either so that was my main goal when I started this course as well. I found out it wasn't near as difficult as it looked!

  • @joshg01 exactly! i was blown away at how simple it was! and once u look at it a couple times and practice it, you can easily memorize the signs! im so glad i spent the extra money to get the expanded edition, totally worth it. this system has really been improving my skills!

  • That certainly is a big red couch.

    Thanks for the review Josh!

  • @LockOnTone Yeah, that's actually in my music room! I knew I had to fit the red couch in there somehow!

  • Does anyone have a song list for the stuff on these DVDs?

  • What songs are taught on this course? Appart from the technique stuff? I've searched around but can't find one anywhere.

Also is there anywhere to buy this course from the UK?

  • @nicolawillis um no u jus have to order it, and then pay international shipping

  • does this course teach you about drop tunings and stuff

  • I do believe this will be an excellent course for my son however I am in full agreement with leccinator on ever anchoring your pinky. It is best to keep fingers, not in use, in a relaxed position. Any person who works with their hands (typing, assembly line etc) know never to cause undue stress on any part of the hand that is not in use.:)

  • Holy crap yes... When i went to go string mute (which i wish he included in this) my right hand was jelly without anchoring. Worked through it, it's great now, but anyway, to start anchoring might be best but it would probably be a good idea if you tough it out right out of the gates.

  • you can rest the edge of you palm on the bridge and kinda lay your palm onto the strings when you are muting, kinda keeps you anchored but loose and ready to go :-)

  • steve krenz tells beginners to anchor the pinky to the face of the guitar. don't do it!!! anchoring the pinky causes tension in the muscles needed for fluid right hand technique!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • Yeah, I personally don't use that technique anymore either. However, he is just offering up an option to use as a point of reference when you are learning to play. There are many pro players that still use their pinky for this purpose. I never really had any tension issues when I did it this way either. The important thing is to make sure you are just barely touching the face of the guitar with your pinky finger and not really glueing or anchoring it down.
