This talk of Bulldog putting HBK over is ridiculous. A) Putting someone over works a lot better with a clean win. Michaels had anything but a clean win. B) HBK had already been WWF, Intercontinental, and Tag champ. I'm pretty sure he was "over" as a viable WWF star. He was already in the main event, had been in plenty before, and was scheduled for the next ppv main event as well. This match had nothing to do w/ getting HBK over. He was way over.

WWE has always been great to the UK. They do TV tapings in the UK once a year, the only other country in the world outside the United States that gets that is Canada. They let William Regal win the WWE Intercontinental Championship in England on Raw, simply because it was his hometown. They put British Bulldog over Bret Hart at Summerslam 2002 for the IC title as well.
If I'm a UK wrestling fan at this event and I paid my money to see this I'd be disappointed and pissed. It just doesn't seem right to make the Bulldog lose like this.

what an awesome match.....it was so well done...it served its purpose....got HBK over as the 1st Grand Slam Champion, kept Bulldog strong, and fueled the DX/Hart Foundation rivalry......this was the most shocking match in history to this point and the crowd proved it by their reaction....I just think the Hart Foundation should of hit the ring sooner
The Bulldog got sweet chin music, a pedigree, and the figure 4 leg lock. That's just too much.
Also when Rude, HHH, and Chyna are using the guard rail on Bulldog's legs the audience is trying to pull the rail toward themselves to try and help Bulldog from getting more damage done.
