Think about this: Maybe, just maybe it also was the will of the goddess that Morgaine marries Uriens and not Accolon. First of all: If the spot for the queen was still empty when Morgaine would've married Accolon, Uriens would've filled it. Remember: He was searching for a wife. That place wouldn't have been empty for long. Then she would have been the princess of Nordwales. She couldn't have done anything from that position. Being the queen guaranteed her to rule in the old ways.
