  • what happens when you get a itchy nose larry?

  • HOLY SHIT!! That's awesome! I enjoy my little R/C choppers but this is my dream! You livin' the dream Larry!!! Good stuff!

  • you have balls larry. Awsome

  • smile larry smile. you beat it.

  • glade u finally did it YA HOO!

  • If I was in that thing at that height I would probably shit bricks.

  • If something goes sideways, can this thing autorotate to land safely? or uh.. not so much?

  • Good on ya mate for achieving your dream - I bet it you must feel great exploring about the place

    !!

  • Hard to believe you can actually fly in the USA without a licence. Scary.

  • Amazingly cool.

  • At-a-boy Larry, Great job Broham !

  • Larry I know you must get this a lot but what does something like this cost? Is it something the average Joe can afford?

  • Part 103, FAR Part 103 that is. America, land of the free, free to commit suicide with an aircraft or helicopter. Nice going. Do wear a jumpsuit for flying, helps to harvest the organs once you have converted to a donor.

  • are these difficult to fly?

  • do you have a pilot licence larrY?

  • @brgimscht No, not required under Part 103 - but get lots of training anyway.

  • What's the highest altitude your helicopter can fly?

  • @Rex11m Under Part 103 you can fly up to 10,000 feet.

  • @LarryCanFly Nice, thanks.

  • That looked like it was great fun, my wife treated me to a lesson for my birthday a couple of years ago, I loved it....kudos to you Sir :))

  • "young head full of mush" definitely described em spot on hehe

  • i love how people don't understand autorotations...

  • Da Vinci: "Chh- why didn't *I* think of that???"

  • Very Nice! Why didn't you buzz the moo cows?

  • @radarbrew Why didn't I buzz the moo cows? Ha, that's easy; because they belong to Bud! Bud carries a pistol and does not like anyone using his property for any purpose - especially fun! I did my best to get on his good side a couple years ago. He said he would not shoot at me again (not actually AT me, just two shots above my head so I would pay attention, you know.) if I stick to flying only over the south part of his 200 acre ranch. I've not asked yet about chasing his bovine.

  • @LarryCanFly That's a good reason..I wouldn't either. Cool video anyway.

  • @LarryCanFly Carry a ruger 10/22 when ever ya fly then

  • Yeah ....... Greate Larry !

  • on a single tank of gas how much flight time do you get?

  • how much does it costs to make one of these gyrocopters? , also , does it requieres a licence to fly it?, thanks for any info!

  • And if the motor quits, you drop out of the sky and die right? Wow, no thanks. Flying is a major dream of mine, but without safety, I won't do it.

  • @RealtyStudioHD No, wrong. When the motor/engine quits you lower the collective stick (left hand) and "autorotate" down just like a big sycamore seed - touching down in any open spot as small as a two car garage.

  • @LarryCanFly: Theoretically yes, but I have yet to see this done safely. I fly Gyrocopters, & the autorotation in a mosquito, or a helicopter for that matter, is MUCH different. The rotor-blades on a gyro are long & heavy, & while auto-rotating on a slight dive with the engine out, keeps the rotor-blades speed up enough to allow for a safe landing. On a mosquito or helicopter, the blades are much smaller & lighter than the load they are carrying, thus not allowing for a safe & light landing.

  • @RealtyStudioHD

Thanks for your comment. It got me wonderin’... since I’ve not done a real auto yet, only “almost autos” which are scary but are working OK. I’ve seen several Mosquito Air owners do autos successfully & "safely”.

My blades are 9 feet long and weigh 14 pounds each. Total gross weight under 450 pounds. How about you? We use collective pitch control to manage Rotor RPM and have to “enter autorotation” where a Gyrocopter is always in autorotation – kinda nice.

    -larry,

  • @RealtyStudioHD actually, there are all kinds of videos on youtube of safe autorotations. it's just a matter of correct timing when the pilot decides to convert the stored energy of the rapidly spinning "autorotating" rotor blades to downward thrust in order to arrest the decent rate during the last few sec. of flight. I would say it's safer than fixed wing because there is little foward speed while all this is going on, but then again EVERY form of aviation has risk involved.

  • @LarryCanFly Hi Larry, I have to say I have become fascinated with your videos. Very entertaining.. The early vids of you practicing lifting, was this just you getting used to a new aircraft as an already established pilot, or was this the begining of a totally self taught flying carreer....? Great videos

    Paul

  • @RealtyStudioHD just have a parachute on at all times, and ejection seat

  • @juki0h lol, an ejection seat would send you straight through the rotors

  • @rufus324 the rotors would detach before you shoot out

  • i wanna see moe videos Larry , can u add me to your msn messenger i am in australia , .

  • love it!!!

  • brilliant

  • Hi, just wondering what kind of gyro your using?

  • Fantastic your the man truly

  • holyshit what if the blades fail, thats gotta be scary

  • How high can you get with these things?

  • when can i meet you?

  • if i uilt one would a 16hp motor give enough lift to get off the ground

  • More Larry...post as many as you can... Never get tired of them....

  • I'm from Brazil. Congratulations. It is a beautiful place.

I will build an ultralight helicopter Furia for me.

  • Looks really exiting but I'll keep to paragliding. Nice vid btw thanks for sharing.

  • Very very nice, interesting and funny vids. Thanks for sharing with us. I am a glider plane pilot (100 hrs in air) Good luck to you in the future with your flying. Keep respect for what you are doing.

    greetings from norway

  • Good job Larry.

  • AWESOME stuff, Larry! Making me wish I could afford this thing... i'll just have to keep dreaming for now... ; ) i can't believe your glasses and all the stuff in your pocket held on so well!!! Great video and thanks for sharing, happy (SAFE) flying!

    Cheers,

    -Clint

  • I think is easy to get into a lot of trouble really quick with this machine....thanks for sharing with the camera installation.

  • would you fly it in a rainy day?

  • what were u doing w/ your left hand at 4:52?

  • man i love helicopters...but for a not so busy, pleasure ride, id rather have an ultrlight

  • Larry do you use a radio headset or aircraft portable radio when flying?

  • @technicg Nope, no radio. Too noisy, too busy, and no one around to talk to. I would setup a radio if flying into an airport - but it's not actually required if no tower or just call ahead.

  • Larry, that was SWEET! nice landing

  • Christin (vondeliusc), I'm actually working on it! Have been trying to find out who might own one of the many hill tops around here that I can rent, lease, borrow, or buy. I'll hike up with a chainsaw, a 6 pack, and make a LZ. With Google earth I found a 4000 foot ridge a couple miles from here that looks treeless - I'll have to fly over lots of trees with no place to land AND I have to be careful I don't scare any cash crop growers else the LZ could be HOT! (is that the right term?)

  • another great flight Larry. Soon be time to take the kids("-")

    m

  • Now that was FUN!

Any of them thar hills have an LZ 'pad' on them?

    --Christian

  • I smiled the whole six minutes and thirty nine seconds. lol

  • Coool!

  • Larry...thank you for making your videos. I LOVE watching them!
