The ABC color bump was used in 65/66 for Big Valley, Batman, Ozzie & Harriet, Flintstones etc. It was also used in 64/65 for Flintstones, and maybe used in 63/64 for Flintstones and 90-min Wagon Train. That ABC color bump was NOT used with 66/67. Instead, all color ABC programs with Fall 66 had "program specific color bumps" as in the "BAT-MAAAAHHHN" (IN COLOR) segment, which was NOT used prior to Fall 66. Other ABC shows w/1966 had their own color bump such as "Next, the Fugitive: IN COLOR!"
There was a big deal made about the Batman series before it aired. I remember sitting in front of the t.v. with brothers and sisters all waiting for it to come on. I still remember - vividly - seeing the abc logo slide across the screen then the BATMAN vocals, then the first animation. First time I had seen this in 45 years. Thank you !
some new producer needs to remake this series with utility belts that incorporate a kinetic energy shield that stops bullets and high velocity projectiles as a pretext to the total absence of guns in most of the episodes.
That's great. Too bad you can't do this on some of the other color shows that came on ABC in the mid-to-late 60's ("Bewitched", "The Big Valley", "That Girl", "The Avengers"; the variery show "The Hollywood Palace", and the game shows "The Dating Game" and "The Newlywed Game").
Thats the hardest theme song to remember.. it must of took them hours to come up with! xp
