Hi, I'm wondering If I need to actaully have Komplete installed to use the sound libraries? I have dvd 2 and 3 ( The pianos) and am really running out of disk space. Is there a 'player' software? The installation disk needs around 5 gigs I think.
Check out the music i am trying to produce with Komplete 7. And yes i actually bought it. It´s Dope. And guess what. It feels better when you actually buy it.
You know you got it all, and know there are no viruses, no bullshit, etc. It's a lot of money to drop for software, but if you are making money then it's worth it.
yeah whatever. I have bought the version 6 - costs a fortune - and then a few months after NI comes with the version 7 ! about £200 more if I want to upgrade ? Sod off, I'll wait for version 8 and will upgrade only one version every 2 at this rate.
I had a question and was hoping someone could help me. I was wondering what DAW software Komplete 7 was compatible with? Would it work with Garageband for example? Or might I have to purchase Pro tools? Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks
@sooperguitarplayer I am using Ableton Live and it runs smoothly as a Live VST, never had to complain. NI stuff is 100% compatible with Ableton Live which you can have for "free" if you buy a £20 keyboard or something.. Well it won't be the last version but still good value for money :)
This is fuckin incredible! I was toying with the idea of buying the new Korg Kronos for about £2500 when it comes out, but I already have a pretty hefty PC, so seeing as I can get this with a controller keyboard and decent DAW for £1000, only an idiot or someone with more money than sense would choose the former option.
I also play the guitar, so Guitar Rig included is an absolute dealbreaker.
@robfosters work flow. Have you ever heard of less is more? Kronos is going to give you everything in a nice package. Using something like this its too much going. If you don't care about work flow and don't mind using a lot of pieces then yea go for this but, if you what something that feels like a instrument and not a bunch of instruments. Kronos is your pick.

@prestonmorrill well... this is a good question! There are many ways to do this. And they all require lots of time and dedication. The best way in my opinion is to take some music lessons. Since you wanna be a songwriter, I suggest picking up either piano or guitar. If you want to produce digital music, I say piano is the one to go, as a midi keyboard is essential for computer music. For the audio part... taking a course would be the best way to go. And/or buy a book about sound engineering..
@prestonmorrill ...The internet is full of message boards and forums about sound, too. Read everything you can. But you also need some practical experience, that's why a sound recording course would be the best option. If you don't have the time for that, there are also on line courses. Where this really starts to shine is with the 3rd party samples. You'll want to replace most of the included samples with something more high end.
CineSamples VOXOS Epic Virtual Choirs - $999.
Cinematic Strings Pro - $699
Cinebrass - $399
CineOrch - $149
Hollywoodwinds - $299
Drums of War 1 & 2 - $99 & $200
... You get the idea. That's $1,850 for improved samples, and there's more to be had.
And you'll want a decent DAW like Cubase, to tie it all together. That will cost you another $500.
