@ltong88 Computer Science is really about computation hence "computer" science. If you read about it's history, the people who founded the ideas for computer science are mathematicians, ex: Alan Turing. It's about problem solving, the use of algorithms to solve problems, and the use of mathematical methods by applying it to practical problems, that's the core of it. The computer is just a "tool" within it. Programming is in it because, you have to create programs to make things work in a pc.
@OmarDelfinity Computing science is the study of the theoretical foundations of information and computation and of practical techniques for their implementation and application in computer systems. Computer scientists invent algorithmic processes that create, describe, and transform information and formulate suitable abstractions to model complex systems.
you need to know how to problem solve, which is what you need. understandsing concept of "systems", systems can be anything from computers to non-computers like a school registration system etc.
learn about how information and data may be presented rather than the details of the data itself.
Calculus actually isn't that useful in computer science. Discrete math, however, is actually rather fundamental when you get into the theory behind computer science. MIT Open Course Ware has three courses on math for computer science, which are free to look at and contain lecture notes (no video lectures unfortunately). AP physics C was an interesting course though, but not useful for computer science in general. Some of it is a bit useful for games.

Yes, I agree with your comment hahaha
Look at 3:05 when pedophile speaks.. look at what he says..
Sounds wrong.. lol

i disagree, you dont need too much math.

Really? What do you mean?
Chrisg586 3 years ago
it depends on what your building. however you do not need math. to use a calculator you don need math.
onlytruthI00 2 years ago
how strong of a math background do you need? Like AP Physics? or what?

the more you are familiar with advanced math, the easier it wil to understand computer science knowledge of sequences.
