I think most of the comments about who's better aren't seeing the full picture. I can't say either was better. I think they are both great and yes Jen Holli does alot of "growling" and yes hudson from a technical standpoint did sing the song better. However, you have to realize J-Holli did the song first in a PLAY. That stuck with her, she's a great singer but the "growls" go PERFECTLY in that scene of the PLAY and since that's how she sung it during that time, that's how she'll always sing it.

I think most of the comments about who's better aren't seeing the full picture. I can't say either was better. I think they are both great and yes Jen Holli does alot of "growling" and yes hudson from a technical standpoint did sing the song better. However, you have to realize J-Holli did the song first in a PLAY. That stuck with her, she's a great singer but the "growls" go PERFECTLY in that scene of the PLAY and since that's how she sung it during that time, that's how she'll always sing it.
