Like it or not, everyone has a belief. They must stand for it, even in the face of conflict and persecution.

Religious free schools shouldn't get supported by government, in fact religion should not have any power over government at all. Just see how well it works in north Korea and Pakistan etcetera.

@broadstreet2 What the dictionaries say. A belief doesn't need to involve a religion though, and it shouldn't be the head of a state or be supported by it. It's the three big Abrahamic, especially the totalitarian one. Though one can think what he wants and throw his money on such bullshit,but not from the State´s money.

What the state's need is more education and science. That will also be the solution for world poverty, I mean, the most effective in the long run.

@KPACHNbIBLOOD Wickedness in terms of what's unacceptable and indecent in a desired functional modern society if we don't add for fictional character to the equation with made up "objective" wicked morals. Everyone can claim their morals are objective, you have no genuine reason why the ones of the bible should be considered as it. Therefore I use reason rather than clinging to what people thought in the bronze age. We don't need to delude our self there is a god to have a functioning society.

What are the most moral for a functional modern society , or what hair colour fits green eyes the best for example. But for intellectually lazy religious persons it seems like they prefer to believe it can't when it comes to certain matters that contradicts their irrational beliefs, because they are ignorant.

But certainly you don't object to religious freedom, basic human rights, and the ethical teachings of Jesus to love your neighbor and do well? Open Doors is not out to "put Christianity on people". Incidentally, many convert to Christianity because of the love shown to them by persecuted Christians and are drawn to the freedom and hope they find in the Bible.

It is not an assumption, but truth. Everyone is sinful. Even me and you. All you have to do is look at your own life. The question is how do you fix sin and its dreadful consequences?

We are all born sinful because of Adam. He was the first man and he was the first to sin and through him sin entered the world. Sin is passed on through the seed. Jesus Christ was born sinless because His Father was God and not an earthly father and He was born of a virgin so she was still pure. Jesus Christ lived a sinless life and died on the cross so everyone that believes in Him will have eternal life. All you need to do is repent from your sins and accept Him as your Lord and Savior.

i'm not trying to be offensive here, but here is my understanding:

most ppl in CHina has a rather "negative" view of christian religions, not because of communism, but because of a number of historic reasons. example: the Christians in the Qing dynasty rebelled and took the southern half of china as their and made it into a "christian country", and during that time the native religions were persecuted a bit.

that is the reason why most chinese thinks that christians are "rebels" and "bad".

Christians don't believe that we are born criminals. We are just born into the sinful nature. What I mean by this. It is the ripple effect. You drop a pebble (the sin in this case) in a still pond. The ripples will eventually go thru out the whole pond and disturb it. We as Christians have to crucify ourselves. This means to not be selfish or live for ourself only.
