  • what kind of bassman amp is that??

  • lol wut

  • I like my amp's crappy reverb, and my two pedals. i will stick with that i guess...

  • thts way to much stuff for tone... i just need a good amp, couple pedals and a great guitar and im ready to play live

  • @dan122189 like me i use my dads old Ibanez 20 watt combo, boss overdrive pedal and an Epiphone G- 400 an it sounds great

  • Seems overly complicated for the tone he ends up with.

  • he lost the hair but he is thin & has kick butt Gear :) QC

  • I read an article recently that Frampton was reunited with his FCAlive signiture LesPaul with the three pickups was found after it was thought lost forever. Framptons gear was in a plane crash and his prize #1 was thought to be lost in the wreck, it wasn't it was saved and all these years later it found its way back to the man. I understand Gibson will or has taken the guitar that has burn damage etc. and giving it to its master craftsman to bring it back to speck so to speak.

  • haha are they in a brewery ? lol !thats friggin AWESOME!!!

  • Just get a Axe-Fx 2 lol...

  • Seriously, who needs all that crap?

  • Comment removed

  • If I ever don't make it in the music industry as an artist, I wanna be a rack artist like Mark. loll

  • I can't believe he uses a digitech whammy...

  • Maybe the brewery delivers him the ac power to use his gear.A house ac connection maybe failed ;).

    N1 vid and very interesting,!

  • que persona excelente que es Peter, muy simpatico y genial en su musica.

  • I fall asleep....it's so boring

  • you making meth too bro?

  • All this Gear basically worthless with out Peter!

  • @ELVideoGameAmigo

So true, and I bet Peter would still sound GREAT without ANY of it!...Just him, guitar , and amp!!!!!

  • peter played in a band with one of my heros who died in house fire and i to this day i still miss him carry on peter

  • yea a plexi super lead

  • really you start with an amp, than you want more... so if you're broke go with a processor and plug it into the amp, if you're more well off get a "few" pedals as analog over digital, gain pedals, chorus, flange, overdrive.. ect. I'm sure peters used to the way the pickups are set but I'd much rather a 5 way blade toggle or even something like a coiltap and im far from a strat or les paul guy, just a simple 5 way on three humbuckers zero thought.

yes a beer demo would rock!

  • ugh I just want to play guitar.. not be a bloody electronics engineer.. guitar--->cable--->mic'd amp...DONE

  • @ThornySoup but it is nice to see someone using a marshall and a fender.. instead of all those boutique amps on tour

  • @ThornySoup get a processor and it'll blow your mind if you're new to guitar or just havent used one, they go cheap for line 6 and digitech ones on gumtree, craigslist..ect. You dont got to be a engineer but you'd have 10+ amps , 10+ effects and so forth to add to your sound, use it for whatever even just as a fancy effects pedal.

  • I want his beer demo

  • Would be nice to have him demo a bit of this gear...

  • Too much gate on that mic!!!

  • Too much compression on the mic man damn.

  • Those are special "guitar tech" rubber boots.

  • 1:44 Really?

  • @triggerhappyrentacop Hehe I noticed that too

  • If I had your money I would have that gear too !

  • his gear is effort

  • Frampton, Peter Frampton!

    I'm too young to die!

If you want to live come with me...

Oh and ring your guitar, and that thing that makes it go "wah..wah wah wah wah.."

  • I am guessing his road rig stays in the basement/cellar for easy in/out access.

  • insane gating one his voice at the start...

  • un musico increíble es una gran influencia para mi ....

  • A long, long, long time ago, Peter Frampton was a huge rock star who had it all. Now he has to moonlight at the local brewery to pay his rent. His "guitar tech" looks like the brewery foreman whose moonlighting as an electrician.

  • Nice to see Gig-FX given some luv.. wonderful pedals. Small company but very nice people who are dedicated to producing high quality sounding and styled pro fx pedals.

  • that man must be short on talent if he needs all that crap...

  • fisherman boots XD

  • Is it just me or does Frampton seem to not really know what he's talking about?

  • play damnit play!

  • maybe the celler has good acoustics?

  • He came to Jackson Ms back in the 70's I believe in 77 and he opened for Bruce Springsting and he stole the show.

  • "See you on the road!". Err, no I don't think so. Idiots.

  • What a load of toss.

  • This is absurd.

  • I find it interesting that guitar world had to use a noise gate for the audio on this video instead of just having a boom operator, or have a room tone to mask the noise gate a bit better. Oh well, goes to show even if you're well know and have a high profile celebrity it don't mean the quality is going to automatically be there. You fail up in the business boys and girls!

  • @ClosThe6stringer not to mention some shaky footage to go alone with the terrible audio

  • @ClosThe6stringer I find it interesting that you and the other ppl that agree with you didn't notice that he is in a brewery, even a large room, creating overtones and echos so there's a great enormous reason that they use a noise gate. i know cuz im a sound recorder for peavey....

  • @decadence18 Well that's a pretty cool gig you got with Peavey. The location is in a big room and you're right I'm sure there's a lot of noisy machines in the background. All those overtones can be minimized with proper use of a boom mic, or a wireless mic. Another thing to consider is that your noisy brewery is still being married to Frampton's audio, and what is more prominent is the echoes of the room. Which again, can be minimized. I'm sure you do far better work than this!

  • I was waiting for those 15 minute talks about each little thing like the other videos :(

  • This is what happens when your chasing a tone for 40+ years..... love all these gear rundowns. Neil Shones was intersting too. And then you see someone thats more simple......like a Warren Haynes! What a wonderfull disease we all have.....I just wish I had their money!!!!

  • all that talk and no listen? disappointing

  • way too much.

  • P.S. Where's that voice box? Now days you can't give those things away!

  • I just use a Crybaby Wah, Pale Horse Distortion, Boss Reverb, and a POG 2. Through a ZT Lunchbox stack. Guitars are a Epiphone Dot Deluxe and a Gibson SG.

  • I find it amusing that Peter Frampton busts out a little Soundgarden on his guitar every now and then. @ 2:30

  • this is why i stick to the acoustic

  • Where the fuck are they????????

  • @assass2112 a brewery

  • OMG a rack artisan? Give me a break!!! Talk about way too much garbage in the way of those mighty Marshalls.

  • @CountryBoyShane - Give you a break? hmm. he's considered a guitar legend.. and you are? It obviously works for him.

  • how much does a rack like this cost?

  • @AugustBurnsMe About this much /watch?v=Y0Z0raWIHXk

  • Yes, Mr. Frampton. I do feel like you do...about your awesome gear.

  • Why in hell are they in a beer/wine cellar all set up?

  • The tone's all in the wine... xD

  • thank you for the useless info.I did not watch enough of video to notice fag shoes.Pete is still a good guitarist.

  • that guy is wearing Ugs boots what a fag

  • @kurtz905 Fucking Hell are you blind you goddamn retard?

  • All that and no demonstration of how the rig sounds?

  • So, Peter lives in a brewery?

  • @seabornlee If I were a rich rock star, I know I would.

  • fuckin ell........blendin this with a bit a that.....tone this, wah that...just fuckin plug in and play..all those effects and subtleties..you could do with gettin rid of 99% of that shit.....and your audience wouldnt be none the fuckin wiser....I remember you playin through an AC30 and a Marshall 40yrs back.....songs sound just the fuckin same to me.

  • @misterbracks here's the thing though, frampton has always been looking for innovative ways to shape his tone. the amount of effects he uses now would have been the same back in the 70s if it had been available. Just think of how radical an effect the talk box was back in those days. The gear has changed but the attitude most certainly has not.

  • @misterbracks its not what the audience thinks and hears. its what the guitarist likes

  • @misterbracks Wrong! I watched him play last night and he used a shitload of effects and each song had its own sound. And he has Marshalls right there as his main sound, with an occasional Fender amp for clean sound. And it was freakin' great.

  • @misterbracks Could it be you're stoned or burnt out? They're certainly not the same.

  • The video editing and camera work is disgraceful, sorry.

  • @ampmjuku Love guitar, man. Especially love gearhead videos like this. Agreed 110% on having to mortgage your life away on gear. It's a never ending quest.

  • After all that, the sound bite they use is from Frampton Comes Alive, recorded long before most of this gear was invented. Come on, Peter, just plug it in and crank it up and play.

  • You kids remember this when you go into a guitar store and tell the clerk that you want to sound like Eddie Van Halen, Steve Vai, Slash etc.... These guys play through so many effects that the actual tone of the guitar is pretty much non-existent. You're not gonna get a pro players tones with a guitar and an amp.

  • @WarmothStrat oh wow never thought I'd see a jvlogger here, ya have you seen the vid on Jim Root's gear - literally had a few boxes of pedals (2x of everything) - for real after watching some of these guy's gear in the studio video's you'd have to take a second mortgage out to finance this stuff XD or just buy one or two things a year

  • Damn, what happened to the days when you just plugged into an amp and jammed?

  • Get an axefx. problem solved

    you're welcome

  • Notice that around 1:24, we can see the green tape that indicates the patches on the knobs of the marshall heads, but through the rest of the video, they removed the tape. Maybe they tried to conceal their settings so that guitarists could not duplicate his sound.

  • Nice wellies

  • More like a small winery rather than a cellar. This is class A. Guitar rig is in the "winery" as opposed to "in the living room next to the playstation".

Today's musicians, save a few, have as much class as crapping baboons.

  • well its a great video, except that we dont have any idea of how all of these crap sounds like!!

  • Wine can cause hair loss? Wait! Peter just showed us his private gear. Sounds good I guess?

  • I've been a Peter Frampton fan since we both had hair!

  • Does Frampton keep his gear in his frickin wine cellar? Weird.

  • @DerekBallesty Perhaps his sound ages like wine? Not to me though... I'm sick of that song

  • @DerekBallesty Hey, guitars and booze all in one convenient setting. Sounds genius to me.

  • gearmandude!!!!

  • Auto gain mutch ?

  • do you, do you feel.... oh come on, do you feel?

  • I'm the only one who thinks this is sliiightly over the top when it comes tonthe sheer amount of equipment?! What happened to the days of plug and play!!?

  • @deanoplym sometimes I just stop and think: do these guys sound all that better when compared to 30-40 years ago? Nope. I wonder what happens to people along the way to make them go from a couple stacks, 2-3 pedals and a cable to 2 or 3 big cabinets full of equipment.

  • I like how he's watching while the tech guy's explaining everything, he looks like a tourist who doesn't have a clue what he's seeing/hearing (and yes, I know he does).

  • who is this guy?

  • @Jackwell1029384756 Haa haa, that's funny....

  • @crappystruth no im serious, what did he play in

  • @Jackwell1029384756 Really? Humble Pie and Solo mostly. Remember the song "Do You Feel Like I Do" from Frampton Comes Alive?

  • thumbs up for pedaltrain!

  • thats a fucking nice les paul! i dont like les paul customs beatyor what ever with 3 humbucker, but this one is fucking nice ! <3

  • Does anyone know whether or not in order to be a guitar rock star one has to

play through so many effects...? Gee....!

  • @LastOfSixMusic Depends on the sound you want, Angus Young doesn't use any.

  • @Bazo123456 Good point....and speaking of point, how many sounds are there? I guess Angus is known for always getting to the fucking point!

  • @LastOfSixMusic Think of it like spices for cooking. Just because you have 1001 spices doesnt mean you use them all with each dish. Would people really be happier if he had just one effect or would there still be something to not like?

  • Not so private after all haha (=

  • Why is he wearing rubber boots?

  • Wish guitarworld would open the gate a bit more on the Talkers mic, as soon as they talk it cuts off... Its like a peavey vypyr! :P

  • Why don't we get to hear Peter demonstrating his sounds? We're seeing him play. Why no audio at that time?

  • Excellent editing of this video. It was expertly cut so that we never really get a full explanation of ANYTHING. Well done!

  • is this a wine celler??

  • I'm not worthy.

  • Anymore, I only sort of feel like Peter does. If that makes any sense.

  • @golluba Yeah they didn't show his stompboxes or talk about the Leslie Speaker cabinet either! I think Pemier Guitar with Rebecca would have been better suited for this one!

  • I think he owns the Winery.

  • my wires are crossed.

  • WTF!!! why is he in a winery!?!?!

  • Very generous with his time.

  • they didnt show the talkbox????????

  • I guess Mr Frampton is a wine connoisseur as well..

  • Why do almoast every video you have here have an overly gated sound track?

  • @hkonmoen I HATE THAT NOISE GATE ¬¬

  • @AFreezerKx It sounds more like compressor.

  • @hkonmoen

The setup is for stadium gigs. The gate wont sound nearly as abrupt with the natural reverb & delay which occurs in such a large space. I hate over complex rack setups, but you have to remember stadium gigs are a very different to a small club stage. So needs different gear setups.

  • @dfpguitar I ment the gate used on ur voices.. in this video.. Gitarworld uses that gate all the time, and it sounds realy unprofessional..

  • must be nice to have money, BTW does that other guy experience alot of flooding?

  • 2:30 Soundgarden,Black hole sun?!

  • @nochix96isnuts Yep, he covers Black Hole Sun on the Fingerprints album.

  • Ummmm..... we don't get to HEAR this big fancy rig ? That should be part of the tour, the most important part.

  • who is this?

  • peter is a monster musician, but these are types of setups that make me think that he can't even play a damn acoustic guitar anymore

  • @tibyv8 Then perhaps you should listen to "Baby I Love Your Way", "All I Want To Be (Is By Your Side)", or "Just the Time of Year"....

  • Im not a huge fan, but he seems like the kind of guy who you want to be friends with...and now I want to be friends with him!

  • 1:45 "Peter Frampton//Guitarist" really? I thought he was the janitor. Didn't know that...

  • @skottmjfarkus i mean...there is a bassman in the circuit...=P

  • @bayonetworkx9 lol!

  • @skottmjfarkus dream on he did you didn't

  • @photopicker I would say I'm dreaming on, he made it reality. Nothing but respect for a very talented man.

  • the noise gate on his mic is beat..

  • its not about how good u can play its about how much shit u can buy lol

  • why are they in a distillery? does anyone know if frampton owns that place?

  • And, as we all know, there's no substitute for a nice rack ...

  • Does he have a studio within the Samuel Adams Brewery?

  • i hope by the i'm peter's age i could still fit in my skinny jeans from 9th grade........

  • hi i'm peter frampton and i'm gunna give you a tour of my beer factory... a rockstar would have a beer factory -__-

  • my friends uncle. yep.

  • he stole that necklace from vai :O

  • @MrCold768 - lol- Vai stole thst necklacec from Frampton

  • I have respect for his music and all, but he doesn't seem to know a damn thing about his gear. Throughout most of this video, he just stands there with his arms crossed like an idiot.

  • @CooCooAwesome it doesn't matter

  • @NamelessSmile I know, it doesnt really make a difference at all, but I just assumed he'd know more about his gear. Not hating. :) Actually a big fan of his music, like I said.

  • @CooCooAwesome If he said, shut up I know this already, we wouldn't have a video! He's listening to make it more natural. He does also explain some bits himself, quite knowledgeably.

  • Screw the gadgets! I wonder what kind of wine is kept in those barrels?!...

  • So, was he rehearsing in a brewery? I mean, that is when you know you made it, right? When all the beer you can possibly drink is right there in the room with your gear!

  • wtf guitarworld buy a studio grade nise gate or a fucking boss noise supressor ..geeze

  • @icedteaburst total support. Youd think they would know better...

  • can you please stop putting a gate on your microphones for your audio its really annoying when you hear the gate open and close constantly

  • So many effects wow! Must be great to have such gear. Enjoyable tour. Love Peter's guitar as well. He's a great player.

  • Who said you can't store your music gear in a winery.

  • @5150VanAlien With most of the crew I've ever worked with the profits of the winery would take a huge hit.

  • Its stored on the muti effects rack

  • Leslie is on the big petal board. The name is on there
