  • Nice presentation for this awe inspiring music. Thank You for this.

  • ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ TOTALLY AWESOME ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥

  • Enya is a brilliant singer, but her last really brilliant record was watermark. Loreena McKennitt shows her ability to sing in different styles. This is not crossover or celtic or whatever but good church music with operatic vocals. Also very good latin!

  • Thumbs up if you love this song so much you're listening to it months before christmas

  • @GUNDAM123456ful Hi Emmanuel means God is with us.

  • thats my name lol

  • Wow, that last photograph...

Very beautiful song. I love the pictures. They remind me of home.

  • interpretazione davvero superlativa

arrangiamento musicale e voce al top

  • A beautiful rendering of this carol... as are Enya's and Orla Fallon's.

  • pretty but it has nothing on Orla Fallon's verison it litterally me cry. It captured the true meaning of Christmas.

  • Wow. Just wow. This is one of my very favorite Christmas carols, and to hear Loreena sing it like this is just breathtaking.

  • awesome

  • This song first appeared in print in 1710, but the Latin text goes back to the 8th century. Pretty impressive that we still sing it, and Loreen's version is, as always, impressive too. Gaude!

  • I love this song, Loreena's rich voice could not be more perfect for this piece.

  • Discovered Loreena today & am blown away, she's majestically other-worldly! Lovely vid.

  • To mention Loreena's name in the same sentence as the other artist you compared her to is an insult to Ms. McKennitt's talent. Enya can't come close to the richness of Loreena's vocals or her musical abilities. It's like comparing prime rib to ground beef.

  • Nice !

    JL-channel ( mysticism prophecy ) ♥

  • Awesome Christmassong !!

    Thanks for upload.

    JEZUSTUBE ♥

  • Beautiful magic...........

  • In Matthew "an angel of the Lord" appears to Mary's betrothed husband Joseph in a dream and tells him: "she will bear a son, and you shall call his name Jesus, for he will save his people from their sins". The text continues with the comment: "All this happened to fulfill what the Lord had spoken by the prophet: 'Behold the virgin shall conceive and bear a son, and his name shall be called Emmanuel, which being interpreted is God with us'"

  • beautiful video and marvallous song.....love loreena forever!

  • What a beautiful, haunting rendering of this gorgeous carol. Loreena's voice has never sounded more lovely.

  • always loved.....

    mary

  • This so beautiful and soothing!

  • Loreena and your video has become the ONENESS in the blink of an eye. It's a fascinating journey for me to have made here.

thanks so much and have many good days mixailaggelos2004.

  • So Beautifull,on occasion we sing this in Mass

  • Timeless music wonderfully done.

But visually, this is absolutely stunning!

  • That is indeed Latin...

  • what language is that?

  • Latin most likely.

  • it's Latin trust me i know this stuff

  • @CITYSTARS217 ,

    You are right, IT´S LATIN

  • I think the more accurate translation of the first verse is "O come, o come Emmanuel, dissolve the captivity of Israel, that groans in exile, deprived of God's Son."

  • "qui gemit" means "who groans"

  • Beautiful ~

  • Where this first bewitching photo comes from? This is really stunning...

  • Beautiful photos, they greatly match Loreena's reflective music

  • Correction - I had the volume down too much. The Chorus is "rejoice, rejoice, Emmanuel is born for you, Israel." Verse 1: "O come, o come Emmanuel and ransom captive Israel that mourns in exile, o only son of G-d."

  • It's a 7th century hymn. In English we know it as "O Come, O Come Emmanuel." The chorus is "rejoice, rejoice, Emmanuel shall come for thee, Israel." Church Latin and Classical Latin are pronounced differently, plus you shift vowels a little when you sing.

  • Anyone know what language this is in? I'm thinking Latin but I could totally be wrong.

  • yeah, it is latin. She sings in the beginning something like 'come, come emmanuel - and free the captive israel, that (does something) in exile [until] God's Son appears'

Though the only latin i know is what i've picked up here and there. but i'll be reading latin next year, which will be fun :D

  • Hey great thanks for letting me know. It was driving me crazy. Latin is a great language. Good luck reading next year :P That will be way fun.

  • Latin

  • but you are totally wright :D

  • Perfect !² ♥

  • Perfect !

  • Incredibly magikal and moving music with stunning photography! Still the best concerts I attend. Thank you so much for sharing your spirit with us.

  • she has such an amazingly beautiful voice....

I wonder, though. is her pronunciation correct? I only took two years of Latin but i think something is off.... i'm probably wrong though

anyway, it's a beautiful rendition of the song. thanks for posting :)

  • i think thats church latin with a rothic r..thats all

  • Picture is surelly from Quebec!

  • Sie ist unglaublich .... phantastisch!

    Ich liebe Loreena.

  • i_i

...I think this is one of her best songs. Thanks for posting.

  • wonder where this is, and who took the pictures, I assume her genious is behind it , . . .

  • bellissime immagini e musica rilassante 5*

  • I agree, 5* . . . I listen to her thru- out days in my streetrod fabrication shop , here , . . . in greater Roswell New Mexico, usa, russell the wizzard

  • super schön

  • wie ein tritt in eine ander welt... tür auf und durch

  • thank you for this lovely mystik-video

  • very nice and beautiful. superb song.

  • I never have enough of listenig to her music. She is one of the best and most unique musicians ever. She is just wonderful.

  • What a wonderful video paired with one of my favourite Advent hymns!

  • enyas version or this song is IMMENSE

  • You compare 2 different voices !!

I personally prefer Loreena... her voice is like thunder.. mighty, powerfull but above all natural ! Enya's is supported by computer that create the haunting vocals and the whole echoe thing...but i like enya too...

  • Bingo: Enya is the queen of overdub. She has a lovely voice with great range. Loreena could sing this without a microphone in the

basilica in downtown Philly PA, and you'd hear her in the back row.

  • I'd love to be there and hear that! She'd rock! :) Keep looking out for her live and she's usually sold out. Still, one day...

  • @mixailaggelos2004 i agree with your comparison, i have great love for enya, but the ethereal quality of her voice is aided by computers, besides that, loreena's voice is like the voice of nature, the forest, while enya seems like she is singing to us from some fairy realm

  • @mixailaggelos2004

    They both work....

  • Amazing visual for an amazing song. Thank you!

  • I LOVE LOreena McKennit and I also love this song (We're singing it in choir), her Latin has an Enlgish accent!^^

  • Very beautiful! :)

  • very beautiful pictures and wonderful music by a wonderful artist !

  • (i had that emmanuel i know in my mind ready to sing along, but oops) good job with the video, you sure must be patient!

  • hm, not the emmanuel i know, but nice, hey mix (what's the part about israel?) yup and nice pictures, some even look like videos, but maybe that's because they're moving..

  • Very good. Beautiful pictures you found.
