  • @etienne214 sorry, i work a lot with public speaking. i couldn't help myself. i think you said "um" at least, um, 37 times in the first minute and a half. however you can play the piano like nobody else, keep it up.

  • @mrzebra239 lol yes what an odd thing to pick up on. hopefully you've come to realize that i put this up not for public speaking but for the music. so, um, please forgive me um. thanks for the great comment though.

  • I'm a pianist too. My page sadly was taken down. Though I have a rendition of "my favorite things" amped up a bit for "Precious Things". You're seriously amazing. I'd pay to watch you!!!!

  • holy holy... that is SO creative!! I think Tori would be proud! ;)

  • thanks very much!!! i would hope that one day tori would see this! thanks so much for watching!

  • Tori is a goddess ahaha.... hey dude you truly rock ahaha

  • thanks very very much! this is one of my personal favorites!

  • God you're talented, Ted!!! I don't think T has ever combined HER work with Beethoven, has she?!; ) Too cool!!!

  • thank you very very much!!! this was really fun to play. no i don't think tori ever has! but her inventiveness knows no bounds anyway so she's all set!!!

  • Wow! I definitely agree to the commentators so far: this is great!!!

I knew both songs before (and agree with you on the third movement btw ;-) ). I LOVE the Moonlight Sonata, I'm not a big fan of Black Dove. It definitely benefits from what you did, I might listen to it more often now.

I also like that you talk in the beginning and explain what you did and why.

  • thank you very much!!!! that means a lot. and i do love me some classical. though to be perfectly honest, black dove was not my favorite off of that album either. and it's my favorite tori album!!! but brian did request it and he has been a great friend so there you go!

    thanks for watching and enjoying!!!

  • Oh my god. I just teared up ! You are brilliant and beautiful and amazing and Tori would be jealous that she didn't think it up too ! (jk jk) none the less I love it

  • lol thank you very much!!! maybe if i'm lucky she'll see it one day!!! that would be awesome. thanks SO SO SO much for watching and i'm glad you enjoyed it!

  • I LOVED this!! I am a huge Tori fan and I happen to fancy Beethoven also, so this was quite a treat! This video is beautiful and as I'm sure all the others have said, you're very talented. Right On!!

  • thanks very much!!!! it means a lot that ppl are enjoying the video and watching. thanks so much for your kind words!

  • soooo beautiful, you have a great talent

  • thanks very very much!!

  • well I am now a fan..absolutely creative!!!!! Very Good..loved it!!

  • thank you very very much! i like your channel also. especially because choirgirl is my favorite tori album. thanks for watching!!

  • very creative! Keep it up!!! xo

  • thank you very much!!

  • Very interesting mix, I like it~

  • thanks very much!!

  • OH MY GOD Ted this song is so badass I love it! Did you put moonlight in 4/4???

  • oh i just read your comment!! well the question has been answered!

  • brian sent this to me & I love it! two thumbs up to you!!!

  • thanks very much! it means a lot and i have really appreciated the positive feedback from my fellow avid tori fans!!!

  • I love this =)

  • thank you very very much. i see from your sn that choirgirl is a favorite of yours. it was my favorite album of tori's.

  • Yep,Brian is cool.....and so are you. Now I have to figure a way to get you both to leave the web cam mic's alone & do proper recordings you can do a good engineering job on.Then you can eliminate the booming bass and better capture the high end. A brilliant piece of playing***** Bravo! It works well. tom

  • thanks very much! i worked for this song. not as badly as i worked for carbon. lol! i don't want to speak for brian but i think maybe one day i'll upgrade. right now i'm still chilling in my youtube newness. thanks so much for your comments!!! i'm glad you enjoyed it.

  • The one great thing about electronic keyboards is the midi and computer interface software. Your results are like playing with the Chicago Symphony when you tweak it. Again, not finding fault, just want you to sound your best! Thanks for posting! tom

  • Thanks Tom! I gotta finish up the few remaining songs on this set-up, else the privileged ones would inspire jealousy and create a big inconsistent mess. Next year I will switch tech things.

  • The only reason I am leaning on you is that I signed a publishing deal and wanted to include your cover of Early Morning Light as the opening track to my first CD....But they nixed it because of the recording levels. One day you have to get it on digitally workable format and you can get some royalties. :o)

  • Wow! I wish I knew that. I think I have most of the equipment here, MIDI cables, etc. I would have done it for you (I still could, I think). I just didn't want to get into the habit of doing the last dozen or so of Tori videos on MIDI cause then I'd feel compelled to do *everything* over, and I would go insane.

  • supremely amazing......

  • i'm glad you enjoyed it! it means a lot that ppl are watching and liking. cheers.

  • THIS IS REALLY AMAZING!

  • thanks very very much!

  • *speechless* This works so well. Thank you for doing my request and going well above and beyond the call of duty. I LOVE it! I got chills when you started singing the melody. My God, the Moonlight framework is a splendidly haunting backdrop for the manic and tortured tale of the January girl. I love how the middle syllable in January, whose note is extrinsic to the key, hovers with such grace & air. FANTASTIC. Please ban those haters so they don't ruin this. ;-)

  • i'm really glad you liked it!!! i was worried cause i was like "i can't just do the song straight and blah blah blah." well you know my theories on covers. but yes!!! when it switches to A major in moonlight i was like "oh god damnit." but i changed a few things everywhere. my piano teacher would've killed me for the force with which i played moonlight regardless of the beat and chord changes i did! i was just fooling around and it melded on its own. i'm glad you liked it!! it means a lot

  • I love it. There's no need for softness and restraint in Moonlight Sonata here. No one is coming to see a perfunctory rendition of a song everybody knows. Your variations are what make it Black Dove by Moonlight. Great thematic blending as well.

  • thanks very much! i tried to keep the melody of it as clear as possible withouut taking away black dove's melody. but in order for the songs to fit i did have to add in a few beats here and there and a few syncopations. thanks for listening as always!!!

  • You make it work. If the untrained listener doesn't notice time signature changes, then you've pulled them off successfully! (Again please don't tell Icicle I said that, LOL).
