  • it's cool man !! hehe

  • this was really helpful thanks i was having problems with the tempo and cleared alot of thing for me thank you

  • No only oh so clearly played at speed but stunningly clear & helpful supporting comments. I'd just like to be able to play like this.........So much more practice & self study to do. Thank you for this gift.

  • good, very good!!

  • How on earth can he count out aloud while playing such a piece.

    FUCK.

  • Thanks for your comment, however, please do refrain from using profanity.

  • @liosama With considerable ease.

  • @liosama to play correctly you have to be able to do that. This guy is really good, nice tecnique :D

  • @liosama Haha I had same reaction. Tapping is believable, but counting like that ... :-p

  • @liosama counting the way he does can be more difficult when you are starting, you must learn to count out loud but start very slow and subdivide to the lowest used in this case 16th notes.

  • Do you guys know the name of the tune that starts at 0:17?

    great video, very helpful.

  • Thanks for you question. "Memories of The Wind" by Masakazu Ito. The sheet music and CD from which the piece originates are available on his website.

  • can you show note and teach how to play this?

  • what guitar brand is he using?

  • Thank you for your question. Masa is performing on a guitar made by Greg Smallman.

  • thank you so much...

  • è bello

  • My first classical guitar is on its way in the mail, I hope I get this good someday.

  • just practice and most important - enjoy

  • At a glance you can almost see the spirit of the gutar dancing through his fingers.

Comunque a me piace a questa velocità!

  • thanksssssss

  • hey where can we buy the dvd? what's the name of the dvd?? thx!!!

  • Thanks for your inquiry. For more information regarding Masa's master class DVDs, including ordering, please visit his website. You can always find Masa's site quickly with Google, using his name as the search text. Also, you can click the "SonataSystems" link in the top right corner, and follow the link provided directly to his videography web page.

  • che brano è quello che accompagna la scritta sonata system?

  • La canzone è "Memories of The Wind" di Masakazu Ito per la sua "intimi Guitar" CD. La musica è disponibile anche sul suo sito web.

    Ciao!

    English:

The Sonata Systems theme is "Memories of The Wind" by Masakazu Ito on his "Intimate Guitar" CD. The sheet music is also available on his website.

  • Hi Masa - You are a wonderful performer. You really know how to convey emotion through your playing, and it is a joy to hear you perform. Jonathan may have technique, but you have soul.

  • Beautiful playing!

  • This is the most BEAUTIFUL rendition ofCapricho Arabe ive heard in some time, this guy's a pro!!!!!!!

  • Agreed. His playing is a highly commendable example of economical, yet very effective technique.

  • Somewhat beyond my abilities, but I'm very tempted to give it a try nevertheless!

  • The trailer doesn't do him justice and I'm exhausted, having just went throuh the entire thing this weekend... and the "inverted" isolation really does help!

  • He has amazing concentration—actually counted time aloud while performing the trickiest passage. BRAVO!

  • The DVD came in the mail yesterday and I'm thoroughly enjoying his musicality, especially his thoughts on rubato.

  • Yes, that was impressive. Many, many examples out there with bad rubato, playing way out of time, etc.

  • Thanks for your inquiry. Masakazu Ito is playing a lattice braced guitar by Greg Smallman, the same builder John Williams selected for the hall.

  • is it john williams' guitar???

    or its look like?

  • Very relaxed setting. Liked how he counted time while performing the most difficult passage as well...

  • what was the song playing at the start before the main song?

  • The Sonata Systems title music is the theme from "Memories of the Wind", an original composition by Masakazu Ito, sampled from his "Intimate Guitar" CD. The main title theme music is "Mt. Princeton", another original composition by Ito, sampled from the same 1996 recording. Visit his website to review the entire discography, including several beautiful and deceptively complex compositions for guitar by Masakazu Ito.

  • This is what I've been looking for. Where can I get the DVD?

  • The release date is June 25th. To order the DVD, please visit the videography web page on Masa's web site, or click on the Sonata Systems link provided here.
