  • Where are all the brainy indians????

  • @genuinekiwi1 Designing & producung stuff for the International IT industry - That's where ;-)

  • Because inventing technology is not the measure of wisdom. Understanding yourself, others and life is.

  • The indian origin of SUPERBRAIN YOGA is absolute rubbish. If indians are performing this superbrain yoga as ritual then why they did not invented a single modern technology. ?

  • This is total nonsense.

Check the comment by My urenJ 2. If it works for you just go ahead But to call it yoga is b blasphemy both to God and to yoga. People would go to any length to commercialise, sell and abuse yoga.

  • our saints and yogis are great. Proud to be and Indian and a hindu. Now scientist research and prove that our method is the best of all. but they never reveal that they learnt them from India. India is full of treasure. brainy indians

  • So many hateful comments instead of love. We should be united and teach one another. Who cares what name it has and who discovered it first, isn't it great that now so many people know about it? Come on people, please be nice and friendly even if you don't like what someone else says.

  • who cares who created it and what it's called as long as it is helping to heal people. spread love and healing!!!!!!!!!!!

  • @kayashiva, It is this very attitude that many have stolen knowledge from India n copyright it n call us copy cats.....Look at the numerals which Sanskrit uses and we learnt it as Hindu Arabic numerals and now they call it as Arabic numerals .........

  • THIS IS WHAT WE DID IN MY 2ND AND 3RD CLASS AS PUNISHMENT IN KERALA . NOW I AM DOING POST GRADUATION. INDIA IS REALLY WONDERFUL

    PROUDE TO BE AN INDIAN

THIS IS ALL SIMPLE STEP TO MOTIVATE THE PEOPLE. BUT ITS ORIGIN IS TRUELY FROM INDIA NOT FROM ANY OTHER COUNTRIES. BUT OUR ATTITUDE IS TO GIVE EVERYTHING TO OTHERS TO MAKE THEM BETTER LIVING.INDIANS ARE SO SO GOOD.............

  • Imagine what your ears will be like in 20 years.......

  • India and Indians are Grrrrrrrreat...!!

  • i ve been doin this yoga for quite a few time, initially i felt aquite disturbed b'coz there is a energy rush in my body that kind of paralyzed me of even holding a pen!!!!!!!!.but symptoms seem to lower with a day's sleep. it though gave me right results in the long run. but now i m again having the same without even doing this yoga . i practice 1 squat in 2 days . and that also seem heavy on me . i've never found any one else doing it..... plz help

  • Super-ciarlatan Yoga!! : D

  • 1:57 that's what's wrong with botox

  • @panthersquad

7 Months ago you wrote "1:57 that's what's wrong with botox".

Real classy insulting someone who survived a brain tumor but lives with residual effects.

  • interesting how islamic teacher have been making disobedient children do this until the straighten up.

for thousands of years before these guys discovered it, and claim as their own discovery.

    Subhanallah!.

  • @tigertm3 and muslims stole it from Hindus. It's called "yoga" for a reason.

  • It is used in the malay society as a traditional form of punishment since many years ago

  • It works.

  • stupid Americans copy any thing from India! but makes it scientific- thats interesting...

  • These exercises are a step in the right direction!

  • No matter who does them, because it actually reveals who humans are. The people who vibrate at a low vibrational frequency, will hardly find such exercises on their own, but it is positive that opportunities are given for progress in that way. I don't represent any civilization except the Earth one, when I say all this.

  • Omigod, our 'Mosque' teachers (of South Asian descent) used to make us do this as a punishment for not paying attention in lessons. We call 'em 'Utt-Behts' ('Up-downs' or 'Stand-sits')

  • its called a placebo.

  • @smilegonewild

Brainwave synchronization across hemispheres is what causes the rise in intelligence, predominance of the non-stress brainwaves.

  • @smilegonewild

Besides the rise in intelligence, this and related exercises cause increase in sensitivity and psychic abilities.

It has for me, and for most test subjects.

  • Money grab.......if you were to do a trial i bet any exercise routine would do the same thing

  • Hey

This is a way of praying to the Lord Ganesha the Hindu God!!!

For generations we tamil people pray in front of the idol of Lord ganesha in this way!!!

Wow good to see our culture has adapted this method 1000's of years ago into they praying system!!!

  • how do fat ppl do it? lol

  • I find it funny how long it takes ancient practices to get out to the world. I remember back when america discovered that this one spice can be used as an antiseptic and made a big deal of it when India had known this through age old practices for centuries. Haha, its weird.

  • general ignorance, but that is how money is made...

  • @mjufpn

There is not necessarily any money to be made on this, as this video basic demonstrates the technique, and you could google for even more free information on this. The books sold on this topic are padded with a lot of filler, with only a few pages devoted to the technique. You don't have to buy anything.

  • LOL..... ROFL..... LMAO...... guess we tamils have been doing this stuff for more than 2000 years back. our ancestors told the future generations to do this in order to relieve their bad karma. that way they could ensure we'd fear god and do this thing.. never knew it had a scientific reason.

  • But theres a serious problem with the video... While sitting down you have to exhale and getting up you have to inhale. In Yoga whenever the stomach is pressed, you have to exhale...

  • makes sense, thanks for pointing out

  • this is an ancient yogic practice known as thoppu karanam...

  • I have been doing these for years. Obama does them too, but he does them backwards.

  • who said he does?? for all i know you could be lieing

  • You spelled "lying" wrong, genius.

  • who gives a shit?

  • Yea, I am "lying" So what now. You gona arest me? Send over the yoga police? Tell Obama on me?

  • lolol good one!

  • lol I was punished this way most of the time coz i used to throw paper planes on girls in the class.. I guess this doc should also research on chair position.. My stupid teacher used to make me kneel in a semi stand position like a chair..

  • hindus have been doin this lik for some thousands of years as part of a religious ritual and (lol) as punishment for kids at school...and these westerners are publicizing it now as if it is their innovation...anyways its good and ppl if u anytime visit India just go to a school and do some naughty work u will get this exercise for free instead of spewing dollars for corporate docs (ha ha ha)

  • the innovation is in finding out the effect on the brain..not some frivolous punishment in some damn school!!

  • This is NOT coming from the "westerners" as their innovation. This is based on Pranic Healing and the teachings of Grand Master Choa Kok Sui. Look him up and you will see it all based on the ancient teachings. The "westerners" are merely modern instruments of this ancient information. Please get your information straight before you comment. Instead of rejoicing in the fact that this is being embraced by "westerners" and the modern world, you chose the negative path. Not a wise choice....

  • mind over matter...If you think it works...WHAT eva works!!

  • Comment removed

  • Some Indian has pulled off a big con on all of you. This is what kids have to do for punishment in schools.and this is considered a great insult (for a kid) and some do it in a temple. But I am sure some Indian pulled off an absolute joke on all of you saying I will make the world do 'thoppu karanam' as it is called in Tamil in India. You guys are so naive... Fall for anything labeled spiritual.. You just made the Indian Education system look the best.. make the bad kids do this.

  • These westerners come to India go to our Hindu temples study it. Go back to their country, give it a white name and write a book about and make money. Super Brain Yoga my ass. This is the first ritual done by hindus every day in front of Lord Ganesha. Its called "Thoopukaranam" in Tamil.

They know they got this from the Hindus but never mention it in the news.

    Assholes.

  • @MyurenJ - you have hate in your heart so claiming this as yours is astonishing!

  • @destiny6666 hate??

  • @destiny6666 hate?? These guys are boasting as if they created this, juss saying that this is already out there created by the hindus

  • @MyurenJ - can't you find any positives? fancy calling people who help others a-holes - perhaps you need to practice SUPERBRAIN YOGA yourself?

  • @MyurenJ Really? Does it work for boosting smarts?

  • @MyurenJ

A NON-westerner is the one who named this superbrain yoga. You may want to reconsider your irrational hate & who the real 'asshole' is.

  • @MyurenJ Really? from India? didn't know that...interesting.

    Respect for India :D

  • this is a bullshit product, and books of this product should NOT BE SOLD (I paid $25 for this book and yet I CANT FEEL THE CHANGES, I FEEL SORRY FOR THE $50 I SPENT FOR BOOK PRICE + TAX + UPS 1 DAY SHIPPING :()

  • You did not feel anything because you were doubting...it is like closing a door with a huge lock...

  • Well, we do this in front of Lord Ganesha (Elephant God) and we been doing it for many years now... This is a direct lift from Hinduism and giving it a different name is not good. We also, have some practices like walking on hot coal (in tamil poo kulzhi) ... common guys we are smart ....... and this is in our genes!!

  • Ohmygod XD!

My mom used to do this as a punishment!

I cant believe it has a reason!

  • -___-

    wtf? "Super Brain Yoga"?

I guess even a simple stick can be called "a wand" and be marketed to millions.

  • Dear All: It is not a punishment given to children. Do you guys remember the fact that our grand parents used to get us do this, during Vinayaka Chavati days or during our visits to Vinayaka Temples. Please also recollect that god Vinayaka is associated with knowledge. THIS IS THE REASON.

  • Come on - of what importance is it of who or where this was first done. If it helps one person, it helps all of us.

    Andrida

  • Lol, I have done this thousand of time when I go to school late or did any thing wrong in the school (mode of punishment), some time we do this with fun. There are lots of methods in this thoppukaranam, like 2 people together or 3 people together. One more thing I have seen 'Vinayaga devotes (lord ganesh)' do this every morning before the temple. Oh all above is in India.

  • For all the F*ers .... we indians give this EXERCISE as A PUNISHMENT to the school children for disobeying!!

  • LOL....this is toppu karanam that they do in south indian hindu temples

  • lmao...i know right what is with these people thinking they discovered something great?? I was forced to pull like 50 of these if i did sumthing bad as a kid...lolz

  • It only needs 5 min a day...you did it too much...

  • lol..yah b/c i was being punished...i had no idea it was yoga hahaha

  • Shame on them who lift and copy and patent the age old traditions of India.

  • Indians all over the globe unite to fight against those who patent the age old traditions like yoga and the curative methods and herbs and spices about which we know since time immemorial. they think they are smart coz we Indians are tolerant to everything and everyone and least bothered about these. I think all educated and especially the youth should take some steps instead of simply aping them ( dressing like them and going to pubs and disco joints using abusive language like them etx)

  • Its sad if it is true that someone has "patented" it. Anyway I had one comment regarding that doctor saying inhale when you go down and exhale when you go up - that is totally against the normal breathing during a yoga practice. You need to exhale when you compress the diaphragm and inhale when you expand it - if you think about it it is intuitive. So my conclusion is the doctor doesnt know what he is talking about.

  • u are right..even i noticed that..

  • You are spot on! But who cares as long as its tagged with the word "yoga" and have a bunch of enlightened practitioners talking about complicated stuff like right, left, centre brain. No offence, but you can just sell anything in America.

  • This is a punishment for kids in Indian schools for failing to do homeworks and such!

I believe this doctor visited some country side school in India. :)

  • Amazing to know...

  • rofl i had to do this every time I lied or did something bad...or even to pray to Lord Ganesha. Bloody thiefs have shamelessly stolen everything from us. It's time we give it back to them...by playing baseball and calling it something else! :)

  • lol too bad they already did dat to cricket...just modified it so middle-aged fat men could play too lolz

  • There goes another intellectual property right....we have been performing this 'kriya' for ages in India while praying to Lord Ganesha. ..And THEY copy the style shamelessly while preaching in theri schools and colleges about 'PLAGIARISM'.....and how much they value that....

So much for their so-called values.

    It is a shame!@

  • It is high time that the Intellectual Property left after the destruction by British Rule in India, should be protected. To me this is SUPER BRAIN LESS.

  • this is a hindu yoga exercise. you cannot take credit for this! how dare you think you can patent something that's been around for thousands of years....

  • Thopu karnam, that is how they call it in Tamilnadu. It is meant for worshipping Ganesha, as a symbol of implicit obediance. After all surrendering to god is the only way for salvation. Isn't it ?

  • Woww... This makes me laugh. This has been performed in India for THOUSANDS of years. Funny how many people blindly listen to these ppl with lab coats on. SUPER BRAIN YOGA YAAAAAAAAA!!!!! At least give a mention to where you discovered this idea...

  • Here's another thing like they wanted to patent tumeric!

This had been going on for centuries in India - its a way of life - a daily practice - not labeled Suberbrain yoga!

So - you americans trying to make money every which way - stop right now and don't try to patent this and become rich! You possibly cannot go behind a million people breaking your patent and not paying for it.

  • I agree with you currypepper77, but I sure wish you didn't feel like you have to say "you Americans" coz we're sure not all like that.

  • Funny. these guys take something traditional in some country meant for some other purpose, add some english commentary, put in some Ph.D.. funda language, shoot with some computers in the background and the world starts to follow it.

  • Funny, My teachers always made me do it when I did not do my homework in school. I thought it was a punishment but now I know - it was for my brain.

  • Here is the secret : There are nerve endings in your ear lobes that stimulate your brain. Breathing Rhythmically also improves performance .

  • i did super brain yoga like in 3rd grade

  • It's all good fun until somebody loses an ear!

  • Funny I've been crossing my elbows lately, I hear crossing the line of symitry activates both sides of the brain.

    =D

  • OMG, This used to be and still is a common punishment given to a student by Indian Teachers in schools. Never knew my teachers had a superbrain yoga in mind whenever I was punished.

  • no.. it is really useful yoga technique to raise our IQ. I am yoga practitioner and learned it years ago.

  • May be. But this has been a punishment in Indian schools since time immemorial to students for wrongdoing.

  • "this has been a punishment in Indian schools since time immemorial to students for wrongdoing."

Looks more like treatment than punishment.

  • When the teachers punish you to do these sit ups while holding ears for 30-50 times then it does seem more of a punishment. Perhaps it might have those benefits suggested. Have done it many times in school in childhood for the mischiefs i committed.

  • As what Master Choa Kok Sui said that most of the people in India do it wrong though. You have to follow the right breathing and hand placements.

  • A true Master never says anything wrong about anobody and anything...a true Master is connected with UNCONDITIONAL LOVE...he sees God in ALL..good and bad ...cause bad is a blessing in disguise that teaches us a valuable lesson!

  • @SATHYASAIPREMA - beautifully said ... so much judgement in the world spawn by a heavy heart!

  • This is exactly what everyone in India does when we go to the Ganesha temple. Ganesha is the god for intelligence... success..and many more. We all do it in India if not in north India definitely in south India. there is one more thing they do along with this. knocking our own head slightly above the ears. Don't knock hard. just very mild. First knock thrice then we do this up and down exercise thrice.

  • Ganesha is also the deity associated with the root chakra. Unsurprisingly this is what this exercise strengthens and why it works.

  • supukrish, thank you for sharing - interesting info, and also thx for the added info about the "knocking".

  • My school in norristown,PA have been doing it for about 3 years

  • very very funny. Actually this is a very regular punishment teachers dish out in India to students who dont study. Holding your ears make it very difficult to keep balance and you squat slower making it more painful to your legs. lol. never knew the Indian teacher was wiser than I thought and now I dont wonder why India has the highest density of Phds and engineers. lol.

  • "Holding your ears make it very difficult to keep balance and you squat slower making it more painful to your legs."

I experience no such problems when doing this.

  • This has a lot in common with the "internal power" exercise that made the rounds in the martial arts magazines (and in Robert Smith's "Chinese Boxing" book). In that exercise, you hold the ears the same way, but you just sit quietly and relax. It seems reasonable from a polarity therapy standpoint that this would help.

  • You can feel the gush of energy moving up to the brain when you do 14 or 21 reps. Oh btw, it's actually 1 minute a day :-)

  • Itz really excellent, no need to tell more, if u start now u can find the result

  • I would suggest for those who want to know more about the book or to find out about classes in their area to go to superbrainyoga,us

    Good Luck!

  • This exercise works! I own the book and use it regularly. I have found it to improve my memory and mental clarity.

  • As a Pranic Healing Instructor in Australia its great to see this wonderful technique getting global exposure through this medium You Tube. Great Story

  • Thank you so so much for posting it! I saw it on TV last night and did a search online just now, you are the only one who has a video on SUPERBRAIN YOGA! THANK YOU!!!
