This was one of the few Disney films that genuinely made me care right until the end, like I watched this film today for the first time in years, and even though I know what happens it made me root for the good guys and really hate the villains as if I didn't know. I wish Disney films nowadays carried this kind of emotion and storytelling.

Things I never understood about Cinderella:: How the heck do you SAFELY store a *glass* slipper in your apron without it looking like you're one step away from a sex change; and if the slipper is SUCH a perfect fit, how did she even lose it in the first place? And lastly, GLASS slippers. How did they not break when she was running from the prince at the ball? Stone steps + glass slippers can *not* be a safe combination under the weight of a 90+pound woman

In the original version, the sisters cut off their toes and heels, covering the slipper in nothing but blood. The step-mom gave them a knife, and they tried to make their feet fit. And during the wedding, the animals pecked their eyes out and made them blind.

I personally find this version lovely, but the original always makes me cringe...

One of the best Disney endings ever! The easy way out is when the villain is killed off, or dies tragically by an act of God or their own misfortune. But to have Lady Tremaine sit there and Cinderella get the ultimate revenge of her knowing she's living happily ever after - and for Lady Tremaine to have to realize that Cinderella is and ALWAYS WAS the woman who charmed the Prince - despite their class differences - well, it's just a moment you'd wish for in real life.
