well I think that people should stop fucking!! india has a population growth of 30 million a year. stop that shit and our problems will be over in a few generations. 30 million that get 2-3 kids each thats probally a couple of hundred million less in 50 years. look up family photo on google and what you see is just an enviromental disaster. use our foreign aid to sterilize the willing and compensate them so they can get educated and not worry about food or old age
@ittud what the fuck are you talking about mate. America is the world's no.1 polluter. With less about 1/3rd the pollution. American greed is destroying the earth!
@stooriebrae YOU ARE THE STUPIDEST LOW LIFE ON THIS PLANET! ALONG WITH YOUR "4 LIKES" HOW THE HELL ARE GREENPEACE SUPPOSED TO BROADCAST THERE STATEMENT TO THIS FILTHY PETROLEUM BASE WORLD OTHER THAN TO USE IT'S SOURCES SUCH AS THE INTERNET! SECONDLY HOW CAN THEY KEEP UP WITH A FUEL POWERED SHIP WITHOUT PETROL MOTORS.....SHIPS LIKE THAT USE TONS OF FUEL A SMAL INFLATABLE BOAT WOULD ONLY USE A FEW HUNDRED LITRES AT THE MOST.. EVEN IF THEY USED TONS OF FUEL AT LEAST ITS FOR A GOOD CAUSE!.
I think that the Greenpeace not be produced on what Greenland do in his own country, in talking about oil Borring in Aktis, it is oil Borring in Greenland and it has Gønland needed, as Greenland did not earn so much money, if i want to mix higher, I think that at first must try how hard is to live in Greenland, where everything is so expensive, derfår so long in not know what it's like to live in Greenland must not interfere.
The world is over populated, theres food shortages and droughts around the world, the earth is on its usual cycle causing natural desasters ect not to mension the universe will not exist in so many millions of years. We as humans simply put the elements we have avalible on earth to good use that suit our needs. Looking forward to waking up tomoz and not exactly giving a shit, lets face it we are nothing in comparrison to the universe that can and will destroy us one day so why try and play GOD!
yee you can say they're hypocritical for using enginges to power their way to the oil rig, and yes they're using a tv to project their activites, and so on an so forth... but the main prospect is that they're trying to stop a very radical way of accessing oil which canhave a profound affect on the earth, the environment and the animals!
There are so many other ways of resourcing fuel and energy, we're just to lazy and ignorant to do so.
PS . yes i typed this on a 'plastic' laptop. Fuck off!
They claimed they could last hanging on the oil rigs for a long time. The funny thing is they are making their whole operation sound as if they really stopped it ... for long... The fact is that the Royal Danish Navy and Greenland Police did the only right thing... Waited until the greenlandic weather took care of the activists and brought them to safety.... of course in the cells after which they were kicked out. Thanks to navy and police for doing a good job. Allan Chemnitz (Greenland)
To think that humans have any influence on climate is supremely arrogant and ignorant. It has hints of Nazi thought processes, which I find disturbing.
Let's look at the activist. Fossil fuel powered boat made from plastic, plastic camera, make-up on face, PC that the video was uploaded from, plastic. Electricity that powers the Internet that it is posted on, generated from fossil fuel.
Be thankful that we live in a time when we have access to this wonderful resource.
@StoorieBrae Exactly, i laughed pretty hard when i heard the suggestion "invest in clean energy". Please show me the energy. The IAEA has gone public saying that we've an energy crisis on our hands right now, not looming, but right now. These clowns have no solutions or alternative to oil, and as you've rightly pointed out, they use fossil fuel just like any one of us do. Get real, greenpeace hippies, the world's addicted to oil.
At last, some sense. I sincerely hope the Esperanza goes the same way as Rainbow Warrior.
Give it up people, you are fighting a war that you will never win. I hope Cairn sue you for the downtime you caused, if they do, hopefully it will at last mean an end to Greenpeace and all you jobless pikeys will have to work......imagine that, whoop whoop!
This is fantastic. It's so inspiring to see people who are willing to risk their freedom for the sake of actually stopping a part of our oil addiction, who will take action to call attention to our dependence on dirty energy and disregard for the planet. Way to go, activists!
@Mary0019 dirty energy? Oil is not just used as a means of producing energy the very computer you're typing your uneducated ill informed comments with is made from the by product of oil in fact just about everything in your home is including the shoes on your feet! I suggest if you want to be truly independent of 'dirty energy' then go live in the middle of a field naked only then will you be truly 'independant' of the dirty energy that would be near impossible for you to live without!
@SIRxTxBONE by the way it's not their freedom their risking it's their lives and all of those hardworking crew members on-board the rig. By the way what car do you drive?
Hahahaha, they got arrested. I hope they all got a savage kicking from the Greenland police for being stupid. I also hope they get bummed by their cellmates, tortured, and locked up for life.
@TamGreensHenhoose unfortunately they will probably end up walking free shortly, having brought global attention to the dangers of arctic drilling.
I mean, have you seen the photos of tugs pulling ice bergs out of the way of the oil rig? Like that is always going to work out? After the next oil spill everyone will wonder why such dangerous behaviour was allowed in a pristine ecosystem.
@TamGreensHenhoose An arrest is a normal outcome. A risk many activists are willing to take to save the future of mankind. I hope there are not to many people who are so uncivilized, nearsighted or egoistic like you. You have the luck of living today while we are converting our earth into a hell. Many countries are already suffering because of our greed.
I am all for this planet in "going beyond oil" however there is, and will be, for lack of a better analogy, a buffer zone: where while we are in the process of developing new energy forms, we will be using what we have, e.g. oil. I think that is rather obvious as I watch these Green Peace advocates racing toward this oil rig and what I will assume are gas operated boats. What many of these environmentalists are pushing is necessary, but it will take generations for it to become mainstream.
@ercpet The oil industry is well aware of this hence why they themselves will be seeking alternative energies to exploit I mean do you really think the giants such as Bp, chevron and shell are Just going to cease to exist once the oil disappears? Already the top dogs are investing in developing renewable energies or at least investing in companies that are.
@SIRxTxBONE the ambiguity persists. There all (BP,Chevron, etc...) saying it, preaching on their soap-boxes of how renewable energies are the future and that is what we are about, however no one is actually saying how this is going to work. What is the model that will realize this future? Not only is it the gas powered boats, its there climbing helmets, the gear they brought, all products of oil. I know I am playing the Devil's Advocate here, but it just seems so overwhelming at times.
Keep fighting for the right to free our earth from the oil giants and their empire of greed and destruction. I'm not some hippy, but I fully believe our earth is at the mercy of big corporations with Trillios of dollars worldwide, governing countries through money. Freedom is not for free.
@TGH ahh the "oil Industry Career" kind of gives us all a clue as to your loyalties. Shame you couldn't turn that first class honours degree and PhD in engineering into something more positive and legacy building for us all...
I notice how you didn't mention my point re. fuel and other oil derivatives.
Also, with a first class honours degree and PhD in engineering, and an oil industry career, I am infinitely more informed and intelligent that any of you troglodytes (look it up).
I'm off to club some seals, hair around in my V8 car, and have a pint with Jeremy Clarkson.
"I hope your boat sinks"? "Hairy-arsed"? "Uneducated"? There's nothing like informed, intelligent comment and constructive criticism is there? Not here anyway :-) PMSL!
Well done crew of the Espy, we, are backing you all the way. Give our love to the climbers and thanks to Leila and Lisa for the updates. Hope you slept well Lisa, looking forward to the next phone call. xxxxxxxxx
And you haven't got a clue either TGH so nur boo sucks to you. I've got more respect for someone who does this, who puts their balls on the line, than I'll ever have for someone who sits at home moaning. Maybe you do more than that but somehow I doubt it. The oil's going to run out sooner or later anyhow so maybe we should learn how to live without it BEFORE oil spills/climate change etc make things worse for us? Have a nice day, enjoy your fries...
Bunch of hairy-arsed uneducated, unwashed, stupid people. Get a life. You haven't got a CLUE what you're talking about. What fuels your boat? Water? Air? Also, I suppose you never ever use plastic or rubber products?
Blimey those activists must have muscles like popeye to row along at that speed!, im sure they wouldnt use petrol engines as that would be hypocritical wouldnt it!.

We should continue to spend as much oil as possibly? Find the last drop of it on the planet and overlook how we get it?
Be thankful and ignore the consequence our consume has?
Live now and don't think of future generations?
Ravens5 1 year ago
@Ravens5 No, you are twisting words, just like Hitler did.
We use it, in particular, to develop technology that is more sustainable.
Of course, we need to find a more sustainable alternative.
However, to get to those technologies, we need to go through the fossil fuel stage. It is a plain fact of technological evolution.
Don't ever fall for the climate change/global warming hoax. It is intended to control the masses who can't think for themselves.
