What's great about these Darts recordings on TOTP is that they are live takes, pretty stunning considering..particularly the number of groups that wouldn't dare, even nowadays!
whops-looks like not an original thought! see earlier message-however I've been watching a few Darts vids & diddn't see the earlier posting here, anyway Steve Wright it def is!!!!
you know fuck all about music you soft cunt, you've not lived you turd growin up in the 70s was the best decade ever for music(real music) not this shite that they play today it's all drug related crap,oh you fuckin taige house robbin dirty scumbags, shove that up your cake hole ya prick,
darts have to be the most underated band in the history of music, there never mentioned or quoted any where in the media, despite being the biggest selling uk band of 1978 and having so many big hits.. from late 1977 to mid 1979 they had 6 uk top 10 hits
Bugger, I admit it. The first band I ever saw at the Guildhall Portsmouth as a 15 year old...not, as I tell everyone, Motorhead a few months later. Rita had fantastic legs, and as became the norm, I couldn't hear a thing in double English period next day. Halcyon days!
Me too, I am cut from your cloth agree with all comments, first ever live show I saw. At Newcastle City Hall79 , I loved It. Great show. I went to see The Jam shortly after & moved on??.... a little bit sad cos they're great ! Love & saw Motorhead also a couple of times !
Wop a doo da wop a doo da wop doo-oh oh oh oh I need your love soo badly! Pure class-I am a closet Darts fan-still have all the old L.P.s up in the loft-havent been played for at least 20 years, but I've just sang along and remembered every single word! Den Hegarty was God when I was 11! Brill-thanks for posting! :)
Ruddy Nora!I haven't seen this for 30 years! I was a huge fan of the Darts back then, and still can't believe they even managed to exist in the punk/post-punk era. God bless you, good sirs! Huzzah!
I saw Darts at the Theatre Royal in Norwich in 1979! My Dad took me, my brother and sister. They were great, but the band who supported them, a punk outfit called 'Screen Idols' were pretty crap!
