i agree! this song does need to be released... a rare version is found on The Beatles Artifacts volume three, disc three.( it doesnt sound anything like this one ). thank you George for the wonderful music!!!
George pulled the best four songs from somewhere in England after Warner bros said the album was too slow !! This is one of his greatest ever songs along with sat singing.
"Flying Hour" is the greatest song of all time and this is the version which was intended for release in 1980. However, PLEASE FIX THE AUDIO!!!!!!!!!! THE SPEED IS ALL OVER THE PLACE!!!!!!!!
Why Warner brothers records refused this song with Lay his head , Sat singing and Tears of the world ? In my point of view , they are the best songs of Somewhere in England ... Harrison's family , think to this songs for Let It Roll vol.2 !! :)
Originally supposed to be on the Somewhere In England album until the idiots at Warner Brothers records pull it out by the last minute along with a few others forcing George to write new songs to fill in the gaps.
Please, please, Olivia, Dhani, release and publish George's inedit work. No one has ever played the guitar to such a level. It's as if a pathway to higher states of consciousness or universal harmony opens itself to us at each note he strucks. Everytime I hear him my body ceases to exist and when he does one of his ethereal solos I feel my spirit beginning to detach from my head to return to where it belongs. All glories to George Harrison for having been.
As a lifelong Harrison fanatic I am continually amazed at how many great gems like this keep cropping up, I can`t believe the number (and quality ) of these recordings. Thanks so much for sharing.
are you also disappointed by the best of released lat year (let it roll)? i thought it was not a good choice of songs, too much the obvious and not enough songs.
I couldn`t have said it better myself. When a new release comes around from an artist you adored, especially after his death you would hope for it to be filled with underappreciated and less obvious choices. I think they meant well but to those who were potentially the buyers of that release, most of us were left scratching our head and with no real reason to invest in it....
Hi pilesovinyl. As a fellow Harrison fanatic I'd love you to hear some of my reworkings of some of Georges stuff: Check out "Window Window, Mother Divine, and A Beatles Dilemma and please let me know what you think.
Hooray! Someone creates a video with the version which was supposed to be released in 1980! A few speed problems here and there but what can ya do?! THIS is the greatest song ever recorded! Thank you!
