I was Charlene's steady guy, but I sneeked off with Nancy to the Cobo Arena to see this guy. It sounds silly, but that was the first time that I had ever held hands with Nancy. I can still feel the shivers up my spine when she took my hand as we walked to the snack bar. After sixty two years of life, so many exciting sexual experiences, so much that I have done, I can still remember how I felt with the simple touch of her hand. Some people will never experience such a feeling.
You're gonna burn. You're gonna burn. You're gonna burn burn burn burn Burn Burn Burn Burn BURN BURN BURN BUUUUUUUUUUURN AH HA HA HA AAAAY HA HA HA AAAAAY HA HA HA HA
this is what music is ..............not the crap that there putting out today ....i would rather listen to a cat howl in heat then the garbage that out today thanks for the video
When you are out there like Arthur Brown, normal standards just don't apply. Crazy dancing is only part of the image. But let's be honest... he's as much about image as he is about music. And of COURSE parents would tell their kids to keep away, which is the best advertising he could ever get.
WHAHAHA BEST SONG EVER! LOL,MY PARENTS WERE GOING IN A BUS FOR A GIG THEY HAD WITH THEIR BAND,I SANG IN THE BACKSEAT,WELL I DID THE PSYCHO LAUGH AND SANG BURN! HEHEHE! :D I WAS ABOUT 3 YEARS OLD
Um, really people? Seriosly, this is embarrassing, and that's it. Not cool, or dangerous, or scary... just juvenile beyond belief. If it were a comic act, maybe, but it's music and trust me: This particular emperor has no clothes. Grow up, for godsakes.
@kinggator2 It is extremely dangerous. By accident he set fire to a stage once. And last year he spilt the petrol all over his hair. And it is scary if you look at him and listen to the lyrics after taking certain substances of 'elusive nature'. This was 1968 for god's sake, what did you expect? What is embarassing is the way metal bands sing and look these days.
This guy must be the first "shock rocker" Alice Cooper, W.A.S.P., KISS all of these guys must have gotten their inspiration of this man right here... the GOD OF HELLFIRE!!!
I remember this song hitting the charts and I believe it went to #2. I was about 13 at the time and how I loved this sond and artist. I have since bought several of his CD's - any I see I buy and they are truly wonderful and so artistic. His latest CD was released in 2008 or 9 and he it goes under the title of "The Amazing World of Arthur Brown". The "Crazy" has been dropped. But this new CD is so astonishing and beautiful you guys just have to buy it. The songs are staggering. Go get it!
One of the most memorable performances I ever saw at the Fillmore East "back in the day" - coming down the central walkway to mount the stage from his sedan chair, horns already ablaze!

We wondered, "How could such an evil sounding song be so alluring and creative?

He's a true freak, but he was also one of the first of the shockers. Original at the time, but a one hit wonder.

We opened for Arthur Brown at the Aquarius Theater in Holly Wood , Funny because
other than doing mostly songs by the Byrds our opening song was (Send me the pillow you dream on) and that song got us the job for the whole summer.
Great memories
