It is not allowed. The bal leaves your hands when it is in front of your head. You have to throw in from the neck.

This doesn't mean it is allowed. It says so in the rules. I don't care if you get fouled for it or not. It is not allowed, since the ball doesn't leave your hands at your neck.

well ok maybe it's technically technically alowed but if it was ever done in a premiership game or a top flight domestic game or even a small match down the recreationial ground the player doing it would immediately be told not to, or given abuse until he did stop. If every throw in turned into a real attacking situation, we'de lose everything thats great about the beautiful game, it wouldn't be 'beautiful'.

maybe, maybe not, but if it's not technically illegal then why don't players do it? it would help win games, as we've seen with stoke city and rory delap with his long normal throw. My guess is that managers, pundits, and fans/ crowds jus would not stand for it.

The flip throw is a skill that players are just to use. By your logic we should stop players bending the ball and other skills as they give an unfair advantage. Often a player who is vilified by the mob thrives eg beckham, ronaldo.

I believe it hasn't been used much in our game is that it is much like the long ball, a hopeful hoof, a lottery.

no that's not my logic at all. my point is that like the long ball which you mention, it is boring play. I mean even Chelsea were criticised for being boring after winning the league!

and with ronaldo, i see it as quite the oppositte, i think the criticism he's been given here has made him into a better player, because he's changed. He doesn't dive (as much), he is much more willing to stay on his feet and thus creates more chances.
