The Bible was written in 1611 AD, that's more 1500 years after Christ lived and died and rose up. What did Christians follow before then? There was no Bible, just scrolls of copies of copies of copies, that may or may not be accurately copied or changed and of course Linguistic Science and it's application proves that they were. From about 400 AD to about 1400 Ad there was only hand-written Bibles that may or may not have been copied correctly from each other. So they don't count.

"Slavery" in Leviticus wasn't anything like American or British slavery. Hebrews would sell themselves in order to pay off debt and they'd be freed after 6 yrs. It was apart of their society, and wasn't meant for any other society, not even us today.

Regardless of a time limit, slavery still means that you are another person's property. Exodus states that explicitly along with the fact that the master could KILL the slave.

No, the American people largely DON'T know what's in their bibles (studies have actually shown this), and Obama's remarks are not at all out of context. They linguistically could not actually BE out of context, since they are summarily synoptic. You could say they're misinterpreted (you'd be wrong), or you could say they're simplistic (arguable).
As a "Harvard law grad", I'd have expected you to notice this.

The Bible was written in 1611 AD, that's more 1500 years after Christ lived and died and rose up. What did Christians follow before then? There was no Bible, just scrolls of copies of copies of copies, that may or may not be accurately copied or changed and of course Linguistic Science and it's application proves that they were. Go get a Strong's Concordance and see it for yourself. BTW the Word Bible is the name of the God of Paper. Biblious.

King Henry (the Grandfather of King James) wanted to divorce his wife, but the Catholic Church, (which used a DIFFERENT BIBLE) said "no". So King Henry told his Scribes to write a NEW BIBLE which became the KING JAMES BIBLE. From about 400 AD to about 1400 Ad there was only hand-written Bibles that may or may not have been copied correctly from each other. So they don't count.

The KJV Bible is still does not condone divorce, but allows it in some societal cases, as did the Hebrew Bible.. And wasn't completed until then? Holy fuck. You realize the KJV is a translation, not a separate book. The KJV is just the 3rd translation of the Bible into English, with more modern language so it would be easier for the English to read.

@CanadianGuy04 No, when languages are translated from 1 language to another the translator takes into account the way a word is used from the feel from the flow of the conversation around it, translators are at the whims of their own modern biases tempering the limits of their educations, along with their own philosophies, ect. The Bible read today, it will most likely be the KJV or something more recent, which didn't exist before 1611, that was what I was talking about and you know it.

Very little of the book is actually changed at all from previous versions. Henry has his own translation done into English. When James was King, he commissioned 47 men to take and translate older Greek and Hebrew Bibles into the KJV for the Church of England. Very little of the works has changed from the first Bibles. Uhhh... books written by hand don't count? I guess all Isaac Newton's handwritten works that were copied don't count as existing either then right?

"Slavery" in Leviticus wasn't anything like American or British slavery. Hebrews would sell themselves in order to pay off debt and they'd be freed after 6 yrs. It was apart of their society, and wasn't meant for any other society, not even us today.

Regardless of a time limit, slavery still means that you are another person's property. Exodus states that explicitly along with the fact that the master could KILL the slave.

Reasons not believe:
1: Will not fuck without condom.
2: Will not fuck children.
3: Will not sell my daughter to slavery.
4: Will not apply to any form of community that keeps you dumb, tells you what to do.
5: Will not join something that is more fiction than fact.( Noa's ark; no way to fit all those animals in one boat for example )
