I've been riding sport bikes for about 2 years now and I just attempted my first wheelies today and these guys look way better than i did lol. I have an 07 zzr600 so its not the most powerful thing out there. I found that I have to clutch it to get it up, it just doesnt have the power for a throttle wheelie. anyone have any pointers?
@Camaro9290 hi mate , if you want to wheelie off the throttle u will have to do it in first gear , ease up the revs in first , find the point where your bike gives the most kick when u throttle on n off , mine is around 6krpm. Once you know where that is all you have to do is acerate to that point, shut the throttle off ,the forks will compress and throttle on hard again. front wheel will come up everytime , may also work in second depending on the bike. i hope that helps .
you guys are doin a hell of a lot better then some of the ppl i see in my town. the guy on the blue gsxr just needs to work on his throttle control and not get on it and let off so much its just a very small movement of the wrist on the throttle. everyone else just keep practicing and try to shift gears while riding a wheelie. keep it up and fuck everyone who is saying bad shit. they prolly don't even ride cause i would never degrade another rider
@GolferGray Very good pointers here, but I definitely wouldn't be too worried about trying to shift while riding. Not only does it take talent and skill to do so, but it is also rough on the transmission, sprocket, and chain. Start out at about 15 mph, clutch it at a comfortable RPM and work on where your balancing point is and move up in RPM's till you find out what works best for you. Bouncing back off the suspension is probably the worst things you can do. Keep it up and you'll get better!

Guys, its all good but I would like to give you a couple of advises, first of all you need a much much longer road possibly with no kind of intersection or driveway, then you guys need to learn how to wheelies from the 2nd gear and up. Wheeling in 1st gear, not only will destroy the gear box, but also the front fork. Worst news could be, that if you find the right spot and manage to put the 2nd in, you can flip it up. Cheers ...

if you wanna do better wheelies and the first gear clutch ups scare the shit out of ya try 2nd gear. you have to give it more gas to get it up but it dont come up near as violent as 1st gear and once u hit ur balancing point you can ride them out a whole lot longer but keep in mind second gear really works best with a sprocket change.never tried it with stock but if you can pull it off props to you. good luck guys.
Clutching it up is too sketchy I think that's why they keep scaring themselves. I just pull back slightly on the bars when the powerband starts, or just jerk the throttle off and back on right at the powerband to get the front to bounce, as the bike comes up you start easing back on the throttle until you find a comfortable balance, it's so much easier to control. I could easily ride out wheelies through all of first gear on my 87 FZR1000 doing it like that.
well, think about it, its an extra 250cc, so torque and power will increase, also it depends on the gearing a hell of a lot. i know the 2008 gsxr 1000 was restricted to 300 kmh
They guy in the blue gixxer already got it he just needs to learn to wheelie further. But those other guys think its about power. A wheelie is about hitting the balance point and then stay there. you can then accelerate when leaning forward to go faster when you can do it at low speeds and low I mean 40-60 Km/h
i wouldnt do them on public roads, successfull wheelie is bringing it to where your falling back then balance yourself with break and slight throttle action......
A buddy of mine can do a better wheelie on a 400 CC dirt bike shod with knobbies while having a conversation with me as we ride down the street..... tools
I can tell you guys are just starting out. second gear clutch? no shifting? try doing a 3 rd gear clutch on a long stretch of road. another thing, try wheeling a 1000cc its waaaaay easier then a 600cc. If you pop wheelies be prepared to fall squids. lol
P.S. find your balance point and try practicing covering that rear brake.

Must of been ya'll's first day on the bike. Its scary whatching this, all of you look so unsafe. It took me a while took, but now a days its all highway baby, can't go longer than 3 miles, haha, engine blows up, lol
its a bit intimidating at first to hold yes. This video is almost a year old, and i never felt comfortable enough to ever hold it. Im sure others will argue OMG ITS SOO EASY.. but man, its quite a challenge dealing with 500+ lbs flying up at you.
About 2 months ago mine where chopy and all power. now I can cruse the same speed for about a half mile nice and smooth whith miner adjustments in the throtle. I use the left pas. peg too.

the first 2 guys really suck at wheelies. My brothers got a 2003 gsxr 600 dyno jet power comander. He messed around with the cams so thier not detuned like they are from the factory. And full yoshimura exhuast. Its a alstare edition.

@Camaro9290 change the front sprocket on your bike and drop a tooth in it. It will give you tons of torque which = throttle wheelies.

its a bit intimidating at first to hold yes. This video is almost a year old, and i never felt comfortable enough to ever hold it. Im sure others will argue OMG ITS SOO EASY.. but man, its quite a challenge dealing with 500+ lbs flying up at you.

About 2 months ago mine where chopy and all power. now I can cruse the same speed for about a half mile nice and smooth whith miner adjustments in the throtle. I use the left pas. peg too.

its nice to see guys that are trying, I just found the balance point on my triumph. just keep doing wheelies and they slowly get longer and higher, now i am trying slow wheelies. if anybody has any advice, please let me know

the first 2 guys really suck at wheelies. My brothers got a 2003 gsxr 600 dyno jet power comander. He messed around with the cams so thier not detuned like they are from the factory. And full yoshimura exhuast. Its a alstare edition.

Sadly your buddies are right. Busa is a terrible first bike. It is way to much power, and you should really take your friends advice. Get a 600, you are gonna kill yourself on a busa.
