my aunt lied to me , she says they only go off for fire calls , im going to lagrange tomm and im going to siren hunt a bit the way there , sw and s wcentral Ga has quite a few sirens , mainly whelens .
@lildil39485 Yes you did! I'm the one that asked you where they all were. I figured today might be the only day I might have gotten a shot to get it in an actual warning. Once they mentioned Troup County might be getting a warning, I grabbed the camera a sat for about 30 minutes waiting for the storm. What amazed me was the NWS issued the warning at 3pm but it took a good 3 or so minutes for the siren to go off. Is this typical?
@nascar88ford Part 2: I wanted to get the start but the delay, and low battery, prevented me from it. When it did start, it was awesome! I think the video turned out pretty good for my first siren video, especially with the wind and the clouds at the end.
@nascar88ford Well, you never know, there is a chance that no one was at the office were they set them off due to it being a holiday, and maybe someone had to go over there to set them off causing a delay. And or it depends on how late the EMA got the warning. It all depends on the situation.
@lildil39485 One more question: Do they typically go off for a certain time? I thought for sure they would sound until the warning expired. I'm still learning about these things.

I recorded this same siren once for a monthly test. Newnan (Coweta County) sirens went off too

@nascar88ford Yeah, they usually go off for around three minutes. It's there decision to set them off longer.
