Congratulation!!! WOW that is really nice......I am working out againg I went from 135 to 172 I really need to go back to my old size .......I know that I can do it....good job!!
I'm probably a bit late now as this vid is old but muscle has memory...if your arms were toned as a chearleader u should be able to regain that. Personally i would stay away from the lat pull down machine or use it now/again. Try free weight dumbells between 2-5 lbs and different excersises
I don't get it! I try to comment on your page and it says comment pending approval. :( Anyways. I've watched your videos and I think they are very good and informative. I have just subscribed and I'm glad that you decided to stay on youtube. Keep up the good work with your weight loss journey. i'm looking forward to your update.
For the butt. LUNGES!! walking lunges are killer for the butt also squats are good too. If you have never done them get some help at the gym you can do ball squats or lunges that are stationary so you are not advancing to a walking lunge until you are comfortable with the first kind. Again look up the names so you can see descriptions of what they are. Hope that's helpful .
To work on your arms I would say try to do arm work with dumbbells tricep extension overhead, tricep kickbacks, bench dips. One really great exercise for biceps and triceps are pullups either wide grip or close grip and at the gym they probably have an assisted pullup machine that will help you to do the work. If you look up any of the names of the exercises I listed at the top you'll be able to find descriptions on them all and they will definitely help.
Triceps? Lat pull down and triceps pull down. Like you bring the weight up to your chest and back down to your sides. If you ask someone about it like triceps...then they might can help.
BlackOnyx, watching your vids always keep me ON POINT!! You are so inspiring. I watched your 1st Weightloss Diaries and have been keeping up with you! After seeing how you push yourself, I am motivated to keep it up! Thanks and many blessings to you!
Hi BlackOnyx, I am new to your subscription but I have watched a lot of your videos already...but about the weight loss if you don't notice it in weight loss remember that you could be losing it in inches as well ;) Keep up the good work b/c I need the motivation!!!
You are awesome. Very inspiring to me and many others. By the way I'm doing the weight loss with you this month. I started yesterday when I watched your video. I'm struggling a lot with my weight for the past year and i really want to lose weight, but its been hard for me to stick to it (I think I'm addicted to food.LOL) I had already given up, but when i watched your video yesterday, it gave me hope again. You have no idea how your simple video can help someone else. Thanks so much.
Congrats on your weightloss progress! Our journeys sound similar. I've been exercising about 4 days a wk but I try to do 45 min to an hr. The weight's been coming off, but I think the changes in my eating habit deserves some credit. It definitely makes up for not exercising 5 to 6 days a wk. My goal is 135 as well. I know you hate the push ups, but for me they have proven to make a HUGE difference, coupled with weight lifting. BTW, if you don't mind me asking, how tall are you?
Nice, I wish I hate you abdomen. My is round and genetic from my father. T.T Even when I was toned I could never get rid of it, I'll be starting a regimen soon, but for now I'm just drinking more water it worked wonders for my back fat, it disappeared!
Above what I just described I HIGHLY recommend the Tricep Dip. Tutorials for this are on Y-tube. I was in track and did this same exercise (only on the floor because I made it up at the time). I didn't know it had a name and just moved around to find what worked the muscle I was trying to target. It really worked for me. You can do the Tricep Dip on a chair or a bit more awkwardly on the floor lol!
For the arms you can use anything as a weight and lift your arms above your head and keep your elbow locked close to your head. Lift forearm up and down, this works the triceps. Youtube tricep exercises which is what will work for you because that's where you said you wanted to lose weight from and tone.
A butterfly machince for the arms, you can do this same workout with free weights. For the butt, get a exercise ball, lay with your upper back and shoulders on the ball, your knees should be parallel with your shoulders and dip you butt down to the floor and back to the original position. If you don't have a ball anything that keeps your shoulders parallel with you knees can work, like a couch!!! Good Luck!!!
or instead or holding the dumb bell with two hands you can do one arm at a time which is harder but even better. Theres more ways, but I usually do those a lot.
I'm a certified trainer, so if you need & more tips just get at me & I'm more than happy to help you girly!
What targets your tricep area is push ups [which you say you dont like] or dips [ which is where you can turn backwards to a couch in a sitting position in front of the couch & put both hands on the couch/chair/stair/ whatever you use & just dip down & up. Or dumbbells, 8-12 pound dumb bells over your head keeping your arms straight & tucked in towards your ears while only useing your fore arms to push up & down to target your tricept area.
Those pull downs that you're doing are called LATS, they work your latorala [however its spelled] It does work your triceps [the area you're talking about on your arms] but its meant to work your lats [the side of you from your under arm to the upper part of your waist area, as well as your upper back, your wing area.
For the arms I would suggest a medicine ball for the butt I would suggest stair steppers if its in your gym or jogging in tiptoes. I personally just run five miles to get a total body work out. Also see some Sharon Mann videos she's awesome.
Congratulations on your wieght loss! I've gotten rid of 45 lbs. For your butt and thighs, squats, lungs, and side lungs, they suck but it work. Also Stairs works. I have big arms genetically so can't help you there. Much Success!
135 is my goal weight also :)! i have been working at losing weight also. i struggle with my arms to, although i am bad and do not work them out :(. i look forward to your updates.
*We are exactly at the same point in our goals and progress!* It's exciting seeing someone exactly like myself! I started my journey in July when I weighed 185, Now I'm 162 and I've plateaued as well...I've also stopped exercising as much as I used to, but on Monday Nov. 9th I'll start back with my regular routine! I have lost my butt as well! UgH...Tell us how the different exercises work. My goal is to be 135 by February so we'll see! Keep us posted! *~* Much Luck & Many Blessings!*~*
I have big problems with my arms as well. I strongly think you should get Mel B's work Totally fit. She has workouts for each one Butt, Arms, Legs etc. I worked with her Arm excercise and Legs and and i noticed a big difference. Her DVD is real Cheap off Amazon and Ebay when I bought it for 2.99 not sure the price now
for triceps, sit on very edge of a coffee table, with arms on table next to you, then drop your behind down to the floor, and support your weight with your arms, going up and down for maybe 15 reps.
for "genetically big arms" :) do many many reps (20-30) or shadow box with little weight (like cardio for your arms) or static planks: hold body in push up position (neutral spine, back flat, push shoulders down, legs/butt tight, breathe..lol) for 20-30 sec intervals for 2-5 minutes! actually thats good for total body toning too - good luck!!
Congrats on ur weightloss.I have lost 52 pounds and still going..Yeah I am a person when I put my mind to something I stick with it.Good atitude..I have problems with my arms also..Good question..I see that u have toned arms and so do I.I am working on toning my butt and lifting it up also.I agree with MilliMill87 that works. That is what i do and more.
Hey hun, check out my videos. IM thinking of something for you. I will have an arm vid coming soon. Just ur luck:) If ur arms are genetically big, u will live with it for the rest of ur life..However, they will get fit. I got u! Good luck:)
Before I had my kids I was 111 lbs now I am about 130. It is hard for me to reach out to people for weight loss support since in their eyes I am already small. I don't want to be 111 but 120 would be nice if I could keep the little bit of booty I have now! I hate puch-ups too lol
Early this year I started exercsing & eating small amounts of food, every 3 hours, until 9pm. I go to the gym at my school & when they weren't open, I just stick with eating 5-6 meals a day. And I must say that definitely helped me maintain my weight when I was wasn't exercising for 3 weeks or so. Just a suggetion try to track the amount of calories you eat a day, and how much you burn when exercising, also try to eat every 3 hrs-which helps your matoblism. Stay blessed. Keep us updated.
For anyone with an iPhone, they have an app called Lose It!. You track every food, every calorie you eat and it also allows you to track your calories burned depending on the exercises you do. It really helped me out just seeing all of the calories I was eating bc it tells you if you went over for caloric goal for the day.
to get rid of the 'wings' you have to keep reducing your body fat by doing cardio... while youre doing cardio, do specific exercises that target your triceps, or wings. google exercises like: tricep dips, tricep kickbacks, and tricep extensions.
you'll have toned arms in no time! worked for me, so i know it can work for you.
Lunges work for your bottom and hips. For the arms, I use a band (from Target, Walmart, etc.) , dumbells, and the weight lifting machine. When using the dumbells or band, push your arm out towards your back. These are some techniques I use. Honey, I would rather have wings, I have hips (for days) that I can't get rid of.
I understand the schedule struggle, I'm a full-time grad student and I work full-time, your doing good. :)
You can do exercises with the free weights like 10lbs and do arm lifts for your butt do squats you may not like it but it works and also donkey kicks you get on all fours and kick your leg back but upwards like a donkey i ran track for 10 years and in college donkey kicks and squats do the trick
WOW!!! Ok so those photos just OFFICIALLY gave me the drive to get back on my diet & exercise plan. You look great! seriously... going home to have a fruit smoothie & I'm joining this gym @ the end of the month. Thank you sooo much for sharing :)
