  • This kid has nice instuctional vids. His skating skills are quick and smooth. Keep the vids coming. I am learning alot from them. Thanks...

  • Very nice foot work.

  • i come ally pally nearly every week

  • The name of the music pleasee ....

  • I love musik'

  • 13 june ... It's my anniversary

  • I sub because this vid is unbelivable

  • song name???

  • whats the song called?

  • great video thumbs up

  • whats that song called

  • thx 4 the vids m8s! Started skating again after 21 years of being off the ice :) u guys really inspired me :) cheers :)

  • @Barnes466 Thank you so much for your support, You should join our online community (forum page) links in the video description, hope to speak to you there :)

  • what song is this? lol

  • thank you, chris. please tell me, when skating backwards, especially in crossovers, the weight should be on the ball of the foot?

  • @alegzander1971 During the backwards crossover, you want to push off your knees, not the toe or hell of your skate, the weight should be directed towards the centre of your skates (which is why you want your knees bent while crossing over) you should use our forum page for questions, you’ll answers from a lot more hockey players and skating, the link is in the video description

  • @juvenilee6videos thank you for your help, chris. i have visited your site, it is excellent. if i have more questions, i'll ask there.

  • very nice vids. please tell me, when you do the tight turn backwards, the weight is on the front foot (which is on the outside edge) or on the back foot?

  • @alegzander1971 Try and have the weight as even throughout your skates, but it’s sometimes hard to stop yourself from placing most of the weight in your front skates (turning to the right going backwards, so your right leg/skate will be in front on its outside edge left leg inside edge) depending on how sharp your turning, and where your leaning when you do so

  • Thanks for the reply! My edges have just been sharpened. I am doing the crossovers quite slow but maybe I need to bend at the knee more and make sure the foot passing under the crossing over leg is on an edge. Thanks for the advice. Also, I've just started going backwards and noticed some of the expert skaters at the rink appear to sometimes use the inside foot to power going backwards and then crossover with the outside foot. Is there two ways to do backward crossovers??

  • Hey, thanks for the tutorials. They've been a huge help whilst learning. Just a quick question. When I do front crossovers the inside leg keeps slipping as I'm crossing over like I'm not of the edge correctly. Is there any reason for this in your experience? I am crossing over at slow pace at the moment so thought thus may be the reason?? Any advice hugely appreciated!!

  • @1977mrcheese Thank you for your support, I’m more than happy to answer any questions. Provided you have both knees slightly bent while crossing over and are leaning on the correct edges while turning, you shouldn’t have this problem. It sounds like your blades might have lost an edge, when was the last time you had your skates sharpened?

  • good video nothing flash or fancy just what people need to know nice one :)

  • It cool but look and my video ;D

  • Hey man, how did you start learning skating? are these your own experience or did someone teach you. I'm just wondering because I want to learn skating myself without someone teaching me.

  • @cwxzeng Everything i talk about and show, is from how i picked up the sport. I've never been shown how to do anything on the ice, its one of the reason i started making these videos, they give people that dont have help a chance to improve. It's not an easy path learning alone.. hope they help

we have a new site and you should all register and join the forum page, you can get info from skaters and hockey players, get the latest updates or just chat :)

  • hey

im gettin back into skating and its been like 3 years since i have.. i had to quit cuz i blew out my knee and i didnt think i could do it. im getting back into this year and i always had trouble stopping... will this be hard on my knees do you think?

  • @GOCHICAGOWHITESOX Skating in general will put strain on your knees including stopping, there would be a lot of weight, tension and force going through your legs, I’d say be careful not to strain yourself too as you don’t want to damage your knee permanently. I hope you’ve had someone look at it?

  • @juvenilee6videos i have had someone look at it and i have been doing physical therapy for the past 3 years and i have found out what i can do and not... i think i may just take it easy, going slow see how it feels and just go from there and see what i can do and not do.. thanks for answering the comment man!

  • @GOCHICAGOWHITESOX that sounds like a good idea, gives your body a chance to adjust, happy to answer.

  • thanks man

  • How much ice time do you guys get per week?

  • @Shahe5 normally we get around 4hours each week, havent been able to lately as i've just moved away to university and im still looking for a new rink

    Thanks for watching btw

  • this video helped me a lot in learning how to hockey stop.....the only problem is, i only learned how to stop on my left hand side as if i was doing a clockwise turn, and i'm finding it really hard trying to stop on the opposite side....was wondering if you could give me any tips to make it easier?

  • Awesome!!! YOu replied to my post! thats an honor! i've been smiling all day!

  • What i also love about your videos is that you guys are active. You check comments and you reply. Thats awesome.

  • @TheShaun47 :) thanks, we always try to do our best. so if you have any questions or requests, feel free to let us know.

  • Hi Chris, I really appreciate your vids, they helped me a lot!

I'm doin everything very good, except for the both feet hockey stop :(

Actually, my inside foot ( 1:19 right foot) gets stuck in the ice and i get a kida crash xD I have a pair of real ice hockey skates, and i've sharpened them 3 days ago (when i bought them) It's because I sharpened them ? Thanks :D

PS: i can do a hockey stop with one foot, have no rproblem with that

  • @Markoosbg normally that can be caused by 1 of 2 things, the most common is the angle of your blade being wrong, if you watch this my video again, at ( 1:34 ) you see the right position your blades/boots should be when stopping. The other reason might be down to weight, if there is an unbalance of weight in either of the blades, that will cause one to dig in the ice harder and faster than the other. Keep your eye out for these and try again.. hope it goes well

  • @juvenilee6videos allright thanks for the help

I could exercise it and now i'm ok :D

  • @Markoosbg yeah, thanks for the advice , it was about a weight problem and sorry for the late answer !

Now there is 2x snow spray to scare the chicks at the ice rink, lol!

    :D

  • out of all the boots ive gone through, the best and most efficient are the nike bauers 1k+ ones, but the 200-500 dollar ones do an excellent job aswell...

  • good video. 5/5

  • shuld i get t blades or not

  • not a big fan of t-blades, but then again not a lot of people like my boots (mission fuel) get what you prefer :)

just remember they cant be sharpened, you have to replace the blade every time...n they make a funny sound as they cut ice...

  • @juvenilee6videos

can you teach me how to a pretty cool hockey stop you break with one foot only i can't do that

  • Well... after 4 years of me owning t~blades i have only had to change the blade twice, skating at least once a week but i have recently bought a new pair of Bauer Vapour XXX for hockey.

I have to say that the feel of the ice is

much better without the t~blade and the better skate you buy will improve your skating more because of the weight and balance of the skate with the blade and as a result i do now prefer the traditional hockey skate rather than the t~blade.

  • YES, you can't do this with blunt death wellies! You'll need at least a pair of Nike Bauer One''s for £80.

    John

  • Dis is Awesome i gotta try em'

  • wer u get those sk8s from and how much was they

  • i find it hard to do hockey stops, like ido everything right, but i cant get the angle or the weight shifting right...

The forwards cross overs help :)...but cant do it backwards :(...

any help?.. to start this out that will help me become more confident on doing this properly?..

and wat skates are better??... Bauer..or CCM's?

  • Bauer vs CCM's.. hm it's about how you feel in them tbh, there is no best brand imo, just what you like the feel of, and how comfortable you are in them =] so go try them out if you can at a store and pick then.
