  • at 9:49, you see benedict and Martin walking with coats and by Benedict it looks like he is wearing a dress ore something, but it is just Sherlocks cool coat :P lol

  • 7:52 HNNNNGG! Manly Martin Freeman *q*

  • God, how he twinkles just at the beginning - Thought I would gonna faint!!! Mr C. is really adorable.

  • 9:20 JESUS LOOK AT THAT SKIP

  • Is Mark Gatiss wearing wedding rings on both hands?

  • 1:50 good thing she said something...

  • it amuses me to no end when Benedict wears that puffy white coat...i mean, how cold is it that you have to wear a coat over a coat?...and it doesn't help that it then makes it look like he's wearing a dress/skirt...Too cute! I giggle every time!

  • I love how Benedict was the only choice!

  • Not gonna lie, this show is one of the best that has ever been made, it is just too good. Please have more episodes! :(

  • I always wondered why Moriarty was like the Master and Sherlock like Dr. Who....

    Now I know

  • Goodness - the way Martin hops across the room at 9:22 is just too adorable.

  • 2 people were not in their mind palace

  • without Susan Moffat there would be no Sherlock

    Thank you:))

  • Sherlock is the best series in the world !!!

love the casts and the plots <3

    thanks for sharing !!!

  • Two dislikes. Must be Anderson and Moriarty.

  • THANK THE LORD FOR SUSAN MOFFAT!!!!!

  • Benedict's smile at 9:30 absolutely melts me. Who knew a man could be so perfect?! :)

  • ahhh i love them too much <3 they're perfect!

  • Is Mark Gatiss Sherlock's brother?!

  • @imiiiS Yes

  • @imiiiS yes Mark Gatiss is Mycroft :)

  • Thanks to this series, I've started reading the stories. To me, the stories are brilliant. Unique, quirky and completely different to the usual stuffy detective stories. And that's why it annoys me seeing Sherlock Holmes made to look like the usual stuffy detective. Because to me, that's the the complete opposite of the stories. They've been inspired by the stories, and adapted them perfectly, staying true to the character and nature of the originals. The acting's incredible, it's just perfect!

  • MYCROFT IS EXEC PRODUCER?! OOOH

  • I'd give pretty much anything to be able to watch them read the script live. Not that they look half bad in the rest of the video but I especially love the parts where they read the script. :)

  • This BBC program is soooooooooooooo much better than the movie.

    Like if you agree.

  • 9:21

Martin you've got my heart <333

  • "We did this little dance... not literally... *gigglesnort*" Oh Mark you make me smile

  • Gosh Benedict is so utterly beautiful in this, I saw him for the first time on this documentary and my heart just STOPPED.

  • And you can see their eyesex even during the start while reading the script. :)

  • Was this on BBC TV or is this on a DVD?

  • @hakuseiDESU It was on the first series DVD

  • @SirKnobofCheese not in all countries.

  • @nymphgirl666 Sorry I didn't know that. This was on the DVD released in the UK.

  • Omg yes! bring on Jack the Ripper!

  • What is Moffat accent?

  • @Pirogo3thable Scottish

  • @SirKnobofCheese Sounds different from David Tennant'ss scottish accent ;o

  • @Pirogo3thable Yes its very very light accent.

  • @Pirogo3thable most scottish people can tell where in scottland you come from by your accent.

  • 6:17 *swoon*

    Father my children.

  • 3:28

    I want you. Now.

  • Hey there, where can I download this..? Please.

  • @tunicniekonematei buy the dvd

  • I love the idea that Sherlock was indeed written for a contemporary audience back then, and it is only logical to film it for a contemporary audience now. Holmes was a very modern man in his time. It's not about the fog and coaches and top hats: it's about a brilliant man using science to solve puzzling crimes. Kudos to Moffat and Gatiss for realizing that that concept could work naturally in all periods. They managed to make an original adaptation based on the original books, without straying.

  • @EnigmaDrath is it ok if I quote you? :3

  • i just want to know the music at the beginning. please?

  • @elisenavidad13 it's the theme. I think it was written for the show, not a standalone piece

  • god i cant WAIT for the next series!!!! :D

  • It must have been funny when Mark and Steven were watching Atonement and were all like, "Hey, the rapist pedophile could be the next Sherlock Holmes."

  • Benedict would have made a great Tom Riddle

  • omg BBC and Gatiss and Moffat go together like Sherlock and Watson! Oh wait....

  • 00:06 SHERLOCK x WATSON HELL YEAH

  • tv-links . eu and 1channel . ch/tv have all the episodes of both ^.^ and if you love british shows, try Merlin, the 3 shows sort of cross link actors XD and merlin wouldnt have happened if not for doctor who, same with sherlock :3

  • the whole series will be on my account there is first one already

    /watch?v=1q97ovkkYgs

  • While watching this, i presst the like button over 30 times!^^

  • I love you.

  • I wonder how many americans have seen this show. One of my grandparents told me that they were going to shew a Sherlock Holmes thing on PBS on Thursday so I was like cool. I wanted to see it, I've never read Sherlock Holmes (will read them soon though) but I love the interpretations of it. Plus I like PBS and British stuff. It was so awesome all 3 of them especially A Study in Pink I was literally jumping out of my chair. I absolutely love it.

  • @ElizabethLCRandom haha ik i wonder the same thing when i watch british stuff too, i'm american as well. I always have to look for when they show things on syfy from BBC or other british networks just to watch some brilliance. Thankfully i found this on netflix. I constantly love british literature, movies, and shows, but most of my friends have never even heard of the name sherlock holmes in general :-(. They all watch jersey shore, since we're from new york. But i guess to each is his own

  • @XCaliGirl52 yeah i wish i had netflix i was at my frieds the other day and made two friends watch a Study in Pink and Doctor Who they though the former kay and the latter terrible. it was my first time watching Doctor Who but I have heard about it. Ive been wanting to watch it but i dont have cable (so no BBC) or netflix, or a capable computer. They watch Jersey shore too ew. I just don't get my generation. Im form California btw

  • @ElizabethLCRandom ik, i guess in the same way they just can't understand why we like british goodness. I used to be from california and i guess it's the same on both coasts still, in that no matter where america they'd rather watch drunk people go to italy or miami than watch classics like this.

  • can some 1 tell me if there are any episodes in youtube from this show- i found from the old-mid 50-60 but not this version

    please anwer

  • 0:44

    *wink

    AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAHHHHHAAAHAA

    - fangirl moment

  • AWWWWWWWW Benedict put on a Parka so he matched Martin!!!!! 9:44

  • you guys rock

  • You can SEE Benedict's lisp at 9:26

  • I like Martin as well

  • Benedict is so cool

  • I absolutely loved that

    keep moving keep doing

    so good

    I adored the series

  • I love that it's set in modern times, like mark and steven said there are loads of victorian sherlock's and benedict cumberbatch (the most posh name i've ever heard) is amazing, I couldn't think of any body else who would play him, martin freeman is equally brilliant,

I know the episodes are 90 min long but 3 are just not enough, we need 6 episodes, Sherlock is one of the best things ever created who says american televisoin is the best in the world? pah I think not

  • @ospreys86 Who the hell ever said that? anyway, at least at the moments the brits do a lot better.

  • @quotecat7 I was just generalising about how america creates such great television and stuff but us brits can make equally brilliant shows thats all

  • @ospreys86 ...nobody says that. hell, with jersey shore, kardashians, and stupid mtv, even Americans think its bad.

  • @ospreys86 Benedict Timothy Carlton Cumberbatch, to be specific lol. He's an incredible actor, isn't he? He just became Sherlock, and the made the role fit him beautifully! :D

  • @WaterbenderKatara22 Yes, he is a genius. Though he already has his experiences and earned medals, Sherlock is my favourites, as it seems so real him. Unbelievable. PS: There is a theory that we all kind of fulfill the name we are given.... Deep sigh.....

  • Great show!

  • I had no idea this existed! =O HOW?!?! Thanks for uploading it!

  • Oh my god Benedict Cumberbatch's voice is...asdfghjkl;'

  • Gatiss was a hoot as Mycroft in this series!

Can't wait to see Stephen Fry play it in the movie with Downey Jr.

  • The pressure are always there, who cares about the pressure? xD I looove Moffat! ^^

  • thank you so much for uploading this.

  • I would have gladly played as a Baker street irrgular. I am about the age as those people were in the Conan Doyle books.

  • I really love british accent

  • does anyone know where i can watch the episodes - im from the us and i cant find it on pbs anymore and bbc will not allow me to watch them on their sight due to "out of the area"

  • Is there a way of getting an HD version of this doc.?

    Please, please, reply.

  • love this show. Benedict Cumberbatch is a badass.

  • This series is superb as a modern incarnation of Holmes, but I have to give a mention to my favourite adaptation of the original, which is the radio version with Clive Merrison and Michael Williams.

  • Martin Freeman as Watson is so adorable it's ridiculous. I can't get over it. ♥

Wonderful documentary; thanks for uploading it.

  • this show is wonderful , benedict and martin ahh best pairing ever

  • @ 9:45 . . . is Benedict wearing a skirt? XD And Watson's sunglasses appear to be pink... XD These gaiz rock.

  • @MellosDeathNote The sunglasses have red frames and temples, and Sherlock's not wearing a skirt, it is his signature black coat but is covered by a white coat, making the inner coat looked like a skirt.

  • ahhh its microft XD

  • LOL @ John's skipping at 9:21
