  • god i love how 90's this is

  • this sorta reminds me of me when MT was my soundtrack, the car the girl, the bottle o booze,......

  • Thumbs up for the random kid getting his ass beat at 1:23. xD

  • shut the fuck up and listen to the music

  • i remember moshing to this song at a girls birthday party when i was about 14. i'm 38 now, jesus.....

  • this is a insult to minor threat, and your generalizations on emo are all a bit off base as well considering ian and a bunch of other dc punks 1st termed and play the original genre known as emo-core.i should know,i played shows with them and was also in a early "emo-band" .Retards

  • At least the uploader has good taste in old school punk.

  • This video totally fits the song. It was a song written about being a worry free kid sharing a wild time with good friends, which is totally captured in these video clips. Great job, makes me reminisce about shenanigans I've gotten into with friends of my own ;)

  • Reading youtube comments about "emo v.s punk" or "what is punk?" or "who is punk?" or "punk is not dead"...it's all bullshit. There are people who truly love punk music and people who truly love the idea that THEY are punk and it is an elite. Fuck all that stereotyping, uniform, fashion, labelling bullshit. I just want to listen to Minor Threat...

  • I agree, Cosmo#$%#$%#$% whatever the hell the rest of your name is...

    It's about being nuiz!

  • You guys who say the video has nothing to do with Minor Threat just don't get it, salad days is about youthful craziness. I'm sure Minor Threat would have loved this video.

  • Since Day One

  • i miss the 90's

  • Dude, nice... what a cool video of some of your "salad days". I don't know you, but I had my own "salad days" and this totally reminds me of them. Thanks.

  • is the beating at 1:25 real, I hear theres footage on the internet of straight edgers beating one of their own to death with bats cos he was caught smoking or drinking

  • great song, dumb video

  • Minor threat are a HC band, Emo and punk started out as the same and dont pretend its not just an off shoot now, check out rites of spring and then tell me that emo has nothing to do with the punk scene.

  • WHAT A DICK HEAD! THERES A DIFFERENCE BETWEEN PUNK AND EMO! PUNK WILL NEVER DIE! EMO WANTS TO DIE! SO THEY DIE EVERY MINUTE! PUNK SURVIVES! EMOS JUST STAND THERE AND DO CRAP! PUNKS HAVE A BADASS ATTITUDE AND EMOS CRY IN CORNERS! FUCKING GET IT??

  • great start off to punk week!

  • The song fits the video very nicely. Enjoy your time kids, it goes by too fast.

  • This video is awesome. I wish I documented my high school days. I think the footage goes well with the song.

  • This video is awesome. I wish I documented my high school days. I think the footage goes well with the song.

  • Change title from "Minor Threat - Salad Days " to "High school losers act like dorks"

  • This is crap. It has nothing to do with Minor Threat. Just a bunch of High School dorks.

  • The song is actually called "stumped"

  • @luce67 or salad days

  • @20mohawk No, salad days was the "A" side song of the original 45 and a different song altogether than 'stumped". You might want to actually do a little research before replying brother.

  • @20mohawk Sorry my bad, it is salad days. I guess I should do a little research before replying.

  • lol... is that what punk is suppose to be about? Middle class kids in the suburbs? Isn't this conforming? You obviously can't hear JACK SHIT! I'd rather everyone that lives like you to get shot pointblank in the head, so we can rebuild a nation with intellectuals. you can go ahead and reply but i dont check messages ever. :P just to let you know your a loser.

  • @sexythingys so you believe in genocide. wow... your the fucking scum of the earth, and id still let you fucking live even though i think your low

  • i don't get it. the fuck does this have to do with minor threat? who are these jagovvs?

  • @hbkdetroit: It has nothing to do with Minor Threat other than that was the track I used to make the video to.

  • @hbkdetroit if you even understood what the song Salad Days meant, then you'd understand why this footage was set to the song

  • its called salad days you idiot, this is his past. boy oh boy u know punk but lystin to the lyrics.

  • @20mohawk I think you should listen to the lyrics. The song is about how people overly reminiscence about the past and how the past wasn't as great as people make it out to be. The "Do you remember when? Well so do I. We call those the salad days." It's mocking those who make conversation about nothing, and people jumping in saying "oh, I remember that too."

Pay very close attention to the closing of the song: "we call those the good old days, what a fucking lie. I call it a lie." Enough said.

  • @hbkdetroit the Salad Days .....fool.....just of being a kid......The Salad Days....remember?

  • @hbkdetroit how dare you

  • This is awesome.

  • please re-title ,,, it is bloody misleading

  • Great Song

    Great Video

  • Emo Phillips the comedian?

  • This song is about how being stuck in the past is pointless, and that when ever you get nostalgic it's bullshit because you make it sound more amazing than it actually was.

  • maybe he just wants to show emos what GOOD music is

  • Great song. Outstanding video.

Peace to the folks south of the border.

  • awesome video! boy....weren't the 90's great?

  • I know your intentions are good with using this song, but "Salad Days" isn't about the days of hanging out with old friends or remembering the past.

If you go through the lyrics, it's about how things from the past have actually changed for the worse.

  • what's up with emo kids saying punk and emo are the same? emo sucks. punk doesn't suck.

that's like saying death metal and country are the same. not that i can stand to listen to either of those...

  • @TheSkunker ahahahaha death metal and country same? ahaahaha oh my!

  • @AddictedToTheOi138 You obviously didn't properly read his comment. He's clearly saying that death metal and country are NOT the same.

  • @skankinruby dude i was laughing cause they are seriously clearly not the same! you obviously need to see what im laughing at!

  • @TheSkunker what? death metal is good if you find the right stuff. you like punk so you have a good taste.. try some good death metal bands besides cannibal corpse

  • @AIC2374 well to be honest, I kind of despise metal. I had a friend who was a big time metalhead back in high school, so I've heard plenty of it (everything from whitechapel to job for a cowboy to allegaeon). i just can't get into it. punk has much more substance than most musical genres, in my opinion, and that's why it's still my favorite to this day. whatever. to each his own.

  • @TheSkunker well of course, if he shows you whitechapel and job for a cowboy, i dont blame you!.. if you wanna et into dm listen to what i listen to.. melodeath

in flames, at the gates, dark tranquility, etc

  • Comment removed

  • looks like everywhere america

  • straight edge ideal real punk no drogas y si cultura

  • ZAKON!!! :DDD

  • Wishing for the days When I first wore this suit Baby has grown older, It's no longer cute Too many voices They've made me mute Baby has grown ugly, It's no longer cute

fuck ya, truth in every word. love this band

  • The people who said Fugazi is emo are the same people who said shit like BFMV and Trivium were Heavy Metal and Soulja Boy was Hip Hop. Lol, what kind of fucking decade do we live in where people don't know their music for shit.

  • i know right.

  • i dont think fugazi is emo but they did help influence it.but it was a lot of jawbreaker and rites of springz that were the first emo acts i know off.but even then emo is now like some kind of clothing style and not a type of music now.

  • they are not emo they where emotional hardcore punk now emo now days is a completely different thing and its shit because they are just part of the bunch of assholes who think matv is the rule of music in this world

  • emotional hardcore punk is what i called emo.but ya emo is just a fashion now and people who think mtv makes the choices on whats good music.

  • emo is not hardcore in any way. That shit is as soft as a gay ass emo faggot who cant fight for shit.

  • there is no such thing as 'emotional hardcore punk' because 'hardcore punk' automatically negates 'emo' ian mckay even defines 'hardcore' music as 'beyond punk', hence 'hardcore'. emo is the other end of the stectrum.

  • aint saing there is such thing as emotonal hardcore punk.but what people call emotional hardcore punk like jawbreaker and fugazi i find better then emo bands.

  • by far

  • rites of springs wasn't emo... you cunt

  • no need to call me cunt dude.rites of springz certainly influenced a lot of emotional hardcore bands and some people do consider them emo.not fall outboy emo but they add a lot of emotion into there songs and they play the style hardcore so emotional hardcore.u get it?

  • it doesn't mean they're emo, they've said, they're not emo, they never played emo. they just played fucking music they loved, that's it. and fuck! hardcore isn't emo. CUNT!

  • Please remove the tag "emo". (I'm not against emo, but Minor threat isn't a emo band)

  • He may just have it up there because Dischord's involvement with "emo"

  • Dischord Records has no "emo" section. That's the fact.

  • Dischord Records made "emo" by accident, it was the fans fault for calling bands like rites of spring that

  • agreed, sort of. But since nobody Dischord agrees with the definition it's hard to tag them with it, you know?

  • true, in my eyes dischord will always be a punk label

  • Ok, the guy at 1:18 looks exactly like John Candy!

  • cool video

    props

  • awesome song ill take it anyway i can get it

  • this seems like it was a good time...

  • great song choice for reflecting the good old days with friends

  • fuck! its making me nostalgic... gonna go dig up my old 8mms!

cool vid and sick tune selection!

  • god damn 25 yrs ago

  • dude i have a copy of this vid i got from someone on napster or morpheus probably 8 to 10 years ago. but it doesn't have all the intro stuff and the audio is better in this one.

  • You probably got it from my brother. There was a point when I had all the videos on this site up on Morpheus. I figured it deserved a cleanup.

  • dawsons creak 1995

  • man i really liked this video

    and boss song choice aswell

  • great work to all who did this. keep it up!

  • Awesome.

I still have the vinyl EP. First hardcore record I ever bought.

  • This is really good.

  • This is an excellent video and a perfect choice for music. The bad thing about this video is that it makes me feel like my days of being young and careless are soon going to end.

  • uh.....ya?

  • But 'chu can always be a minor at heart...

    :)

  • I'm not straight-edge(I drink and smoke) but I have always loved Minor Threat! They kick ass!

  • This video makes me wish i taped my friends and i hanging out. some fun times that seem lost. great video

  • one of my fave songs

  • Yes, you are.

  • BAVP?

  • Big Ass Van Productions

  • @zevdotan holy shit, that's what is thought it meant, well i thought it meant Bad Ass Video Pro.... none the less

  • ...1997? minor threat formed in 1980 and disbaned in 1983

  • I know. I started BAVP in 1997.

  • ooo my bad bro i miss-read

  • you shouldn't litter.

  • Havent heard this song in years....thanx

  • Love it ^_^

  • good vid, very fun haaha

  • You completely missed the meaning of this song.

Take extra care to pay attention to the last lines.

"Do you remember when? Yeah so do I.

We call those the Salda Days.

And do you remember when? Yeah, so do I.

We're gonna call those the good ole' days.

What a fucking lie. I call it a lie."

The entire song is about the memories of youth being overly romantacized.

  • Jowee, good point. When I first heard this song (about '90?), I wasn't sure if that's what they meant or if it was more of a mockery of how people are wrapped in the past.

  • cool to see you guys having fun

Do you still keep in touch with many of them?

    Is everyone doing well?

  • Everyone I know of is doing great. Some of them still live in Rochester, others on the west coast and everywhere in between.

But we all see each other every Thanksgiving and Christmas, usually accompanied by an annual Football game.

  • WTF is the meaning of this !

  • Apparently, you missed the earlier discussion.

Check what Eanirac had to say.

  • whoa dude scary shit

I'm 20 so me and my friends the GHTP were rippin shit up in the '00s, not the '90s, but still the same stuff goin on. Your friend's smiling faces look just like my friends. We rock Minor Threat, too. New stuff sucks.

  • This vojceknikhilterror guy is a total dick! Fuck off back to your blowup doll! Great video and excellent song choice, wish I had made something similar when I was younger...I would have used a Bad Brains song in my video, cos I used to smoke a lot of grass haha

  • Thanks all you guys for the comments. I make these videos because by the time we all grow up and grow old, we will forget just how much fun we used to have.

  • Punk has always been about free thinking and not placing restrictions on the way people live. If you think that anyone who listens to X subculture of punk should conform to X image then you kinda missed the whole point in the first place.

For a lot of people, back when you were kicking the shit with your school friends without a care in the world, those were the salad days. I don't see why the clip isn't relevant.

  • Pretty cool video, you can't blame the kids for being too young. They are discovering music that was just coming out when I was their age. They can't turn back time! This is what they see so be glad they see it. I wish they could have had the experience I had when Punk was a dirty word and you were treated like a less then second class citizen for being one, it was a blast!!

  • None of us were rich, none of us from the suburbs. It's not about "being hardcore" at all.

I simply recognize superior talent in music through these videos.

Go right ahead and be "hardcore" if you wish, we follow our own path.

  • One of my favorite songs. PS - VojcekNihilTerror... youre a fuckin dork.

  • maybe i'm out of point, but what kind of connection is between U.S. sXe legend MINOR THREAT and bunch of bored consument schoolkids.?!? Just to show the whole world how are we "cool", or what?

  • It's not about being "straight edge" it's about good music.

Maybe you need to watch this video again.

In particular, pay attention to the lyrics.

  • good video...seems kind of personal to yu so that makes it kinda cool =]

  • Thanks. My friends are part of the family.

  • Good song!

  • Yeah, Great song!

  • Minor Threat fuckin' kick-ass!!!!

  • very cool "It Follows ME" my first punk song to get. funny..I just picked this 7" up a few years back since I had only taped it from my Milwaukee punk buddy in college

  • och who cares, at least there's some good music behind it!

  • Classic tune.remind's of flying about on my S&M Dirtbike lol.

  • Good thing nobody asked you.

  • good song.....made me miss the good ol days...

  • i agree with eastbayray. rename this or something, WTF!!!!

  • What is there to rename? The song? It's about the good times we had a while back.

  • No rename the clip! Everyone thinks it's gonna be a Minor Threat clip. I could play this song over any video if I so chose, I want to see THEM!!!

  • vai tomar no cu gringo de merda, cade a porra da banda

  • great song n band but is this supposed to be funny or something ??? kinda pointless

  • I guess you missed the Video Description and the opening crawl.
