  • 2:30 brings the child out of me XDD!

  • The Bell is the AESS system. Its the engine auto start alarm.

  • @voltairesfire EASS Engine Auto Start System

  • lol the horn sounds like a dash9 defult horn on microsoft train simulator

  • What is the engine room bell. Ive never heard of that before

  • wow ge loco's have a harley sound too...lol jk

  • Ok...I too am a foamer.....but i gotta question.....how do you tell an EMD locomotive from a GE.....?

  • The windshields in a GE go straight across and the ones in the EMD are slanted down at the outer bottom corners. The body in front of the windhields slant the same. That's how I tell at a glance.

  • There are a number of ways, but the way I taught myself was to look at the wheels. If you can see most of the wheels below the axel, it is probably an EMD. Most newer GEs (Dash 9 and up) have the HiAd (steerable trucks are different but you still can't see much of the wheel) trucks with a bar below (makes it look like ice skates) the axel with 2 springs on either side. The other easy indicator is the fuel tank on the right side of GEs, there are 2 air tanks kind of wedged on the top. Make sense?

  • @LearnWithGern close, but not quite true....most newer GE's don't have HiAd trucks....BNSF, UP, NS, and CN don't have them with HiAd trucks. CSX and CP are the only companies that have ordered some, but not all of their modern GE fleets with HiAd trucks. Most new GE's still have the standard trucks.

  • A G.E.'s radiator wings usually end in the very back while and EMD's radiator wings usually are either up further or don't have them at all.

  • @sarge2906 there are a thousand ways. Sounds, truck styles, cab styles, fuel tank style, radiator styles, etc. That's just the obvious ones.

  • Awesome 5*

  • Can anyone tell what type of horns are used by the canadian railroad companys such as CP, CN and BC Rail? Tancks!

  • CN & CP - K3H's. BCR - K5H's.

  • haha this is all i see up in Ontario. All CP ever sends around anymore are thos big GE units..I miss the EMD's

  • apparently they still run the emds in the prairies

  • yah probly, they only use the EMD's in the yards here. I was luckey kuz i probly caught one of the last trains with EMD locos here in my area on video. I never see them anymore. not in the past year anyways.

  • Ever been in an SD40-2 at full tilt? Not a fun experience

  • yah i have, I didnt mind it, but I guess if your in one day in, day out it wouldent be fun.

  • I was practically deaf the next day. The next time I did run in one I was wearing ear protection.

  • yah they made me wear ear plugs lmao. I knew a yard worker so they took me on a tour of the Queensway Intermodal Yard in toronto. We got to drive one for a little while lol and yah it is loud.
