Thats crazy, hard to beleive my own eyes. That water must have come up to 20 feet high. I feel bad for the people that lived there. Best footage I,ve seen. I whouldn,t want to be there filming that.
I wonder if those people in that other building got any video of the people shooting this. The contractors of both buildings deserve a statue in the center of town. Well built to say the least "tsunami proof".
OMG, just to see nature in all it's rawest. We really don't stand a chance against anything the planet or the universe could throw at us. Think of what kind of tsunami waves will be unleashed when the Rockies begin to split. I wonder if we'll live to see that, and kiss Hollywood goodbye.
Incredible power. I'd like to see a translation of the public announcement (I can guess...). The speed of the water is amazing. It's a testament to the Japanese building code that the building in the foreground was not leveled. By my estimate, the water rose 30 foot easily. Most structures would not withstand that kind of water pressure. Just sent the Red Cross another donation after seeing this. One of the most impressive examples of nature having its way with us. Nature just doesn't care.
@KATUCommunities "Nature just doesn't care" - No, the human race doesn't care. We are destroying the earth and this is a consequence of it. We are upsetting nature by littering, polluting, creating oil spills etc. This is natures pay back. However, this is truly terrible and I can't imagine how they must be suffering.
@simz2807 There are more tree's in North America than there was 200 years ago, but no, man does not care, surely its natures revenge, The only solution is for you to Save the planet and kill yourself.
@SlayerofFiction Actually I just survived cancer, so I will take a skip on the dying part, but thanks for the gesture. I guess you are pretty well aged for you to be able to say with confidence, that there are more trees now than 200 years ago. Oh and FYI... what do you think was in the place of the house that you are living in now, 200 years ago...? A shopping mall?????????! I rest my case.
@simz2807 Oh soooo everyone else is a scurge to the earth but you right? Yes there are more tree's now than 200 years ago do to a thing called reforistation, you know, planting tree's, many of those in area's where there previously were not tree's. and of course planting tree's where we have logged. So are you gonna jump or still run your mouth about how evil humans are while you type from a computer which contributs to the Degradation of the environement via oil and mined minerals.
@SlayerofFiction You know, I don't actually have the time to argue with someone who can't even spell "reforestation" and who copies and pastes words like "degradation". Due to your theory, of mankind planting trees where we have logged, I look forward to seeing trees growing in everyones living rooms in a few years time. ie, We will never, uh don't worry, you just won't get it. Have a fabulous day!
@simz2807 Eh well be a uneducated fuck thats your problem. BTW, R you going to jump or keep being a filthy polluting human? You can join the voluntary extinction act ya know.
This video is not in real speed, it's going to fast. It's possible to split the sound from video. I have seen the original video. Just look at the movements when the camera is sweeping around the landscape - it's going too fast here.
Anyway, the footage covers how dramatic the tsunami was.
It's impossible to believe that that much water can be moved by an earthquake without seeing it. It blows the mind. My heart goes out to all the victims.
If only our Prime Minister here in NEW ZEALAND , john key could lead our country and not be a EX money market dealer, watching the bottom line

Lets go and sit on the Dock and Watch the Tsunami! Nothing will happen to us...
Oh it just a few cars falling over the wall, we would be fine on that Bus Shelter...
Oh it is a bit big, but I'll be fine on the roof the that Green-Roof Shed...
Oh it is quite big, but I'll be fine on the second floor of that Hospital....
Reality is people, if you underestimate Mother Nature, your as good as dead.
