price is due to supply and demand. zacuto are one of very few companies that make these sorts of products so they can charge whatever they want for it because people need it.

the bracket for small DSLRs with a battery expander pack doesn't even fit tightly to the camera.

unbelievable.

It's a necessity though unless you wont to grip up an external or build it yourself.

z-finder is awsome because there isn't really an alternative product... However, I just built a shoulder camera mount out of an old tripod and various other parts that is probably better than the one they sell for $1,000.

An excellent piece of kit, highly recommended if pricey (like all of Zakuto's kit). Makes accurate focusing possible in live view.
