Great Video, brought tears to my eyes, a 71 year old who loves and appreciates our troops espically our Vietnam vets who have never gotten the recognition that they deserve......Thanks for posting the video.
I am honored to watch and listen to this video.... I am working on using it to sing to our Veterans this coming Christmas from our VA Choir in Minnesota. God Bless and God speed to bring the rest home. My brother died from cancer from agent orange in 2006. He was a lifer, a proud Marine...his name was Michael Peltier. Hugs and thank you, Miki..St Paul, MN
Welcome home, soldier, welcome home. Thank you for your service. Vietnam Veterans got a raw deal when they came home (IF they came home, at all), and I made a promise: I meet any Vietnam Veteran, I give them a (((HUG))) and welcome them home. Consider yourself (((HUGGED))). =] Beautiful song/video. Five stars.
From a USAF Veteran (daughter/sister/niece/cousin of Veterans, too),
my mom pashint is in this video he is the one on the far right with hvey eye brows from 45 to 50 sc. he is now on a vent he is doing will he has grat stors from when he seved
I viewed your song 'From Another Time and Place' again after first seeing it a couple of months ago. I have to write that it has a timeless quality to it. Thank you for again for reminding me of the daily sacrifice our troops and their families make in the service of our country.
Way to go! I was moved. Nice job Sal. Best song of the year! Thanks to all our service men, past, present and future for your faithful service.
Incidentally, I did read the book for songwriters written by the lyricist of this song - How To Get Somewhere In The Music Business From Nowhere With Nothing. It changed my life!
Thanks Sal. I spent a Christmas in Vietnam also. Such a nice tribute to our current brave troops also. I'm so glad they are not/will not be treated the way we were when we returned from war. God Bless all our Troops!!!!
My ex was a Marine in Vietnam and he never received any thanks for serving his Country in the longest war. God Bless You. Bring Our Troops Home Safe Soon.
What an awesome way to honor ALL TROOPS who continue to give and scarific themselve for the behalf of this great country. I believe the woman who wrote the lyrics just put out a wonderful book for songwriters named, "How to get Somewhere in he Music Industry from Nowhere and with Nothing." Worth reading if you have an interest in songwriting!
Absolutely beautiful song/video. Thank you for writing it. Thank you for serving our country. Thank you for defending our freedom. Most importantly, WELCOME HOME, Sir.
Thank you so much for this. My husband left 2 weeks ago for Iraq. My 4 children and I miss him greatly and are not looking forward to a Christmas without him. Knowing there are people who appreciate what he does helps. I have some videos I made of his unit prior to deployment on my site. Enjoy.
Im a Vietnam Vet, xnurse, this was just beautiful, I could hug you for making it. We all need to be there for all soldiers, young and old and new. God Bless
Very well done Marine and even more poignant if you remember the welcome Vietnam Vets got from WWII and Korean vets who thought Vietnam was not a war . . . WELCOME HOME SAL
Beautiful song, and a touching tribute this brought tears to my heart! AWESOME!!
I remember the days of the news when Viet Nam was in full force, the news then and how even today I still get choked up hearing how our now sons, daughters, are now fighting the same way.
God Bless you Sal, you really touched so many hearts! Thanks for being YOU and sharing whats in your heart with so many!
Great work Gyrene! You captured the feelings of millions of American warriors all over the world.
I will like your permission to play this to my Class just before the Christmas Break this year. I teach at ITT Tech and I incorporate Patriotism in all my classes, sort of an added piece of the curriculem free of charge.
Thank you for your kind words. Please feel free to share with your students and friends. My hope is to have as many people as possible see the video and think good thoughts about our American warriors and their families this holiday.
If you can watch this without tears and gratitude, go look in the mirror this Christmas season and think about who served and who died to keep you free. This is a beautiful tribute. (From a 24 year military wife and daughter-in-law of an infantry sergeant who served in WWII, Korea, and two tours in Vietnam.)
