How did you arrive at 45k?

Currently retail price panels price out at about $4.3 a watt was about $4.8

So $25000 to $30000 for panels then you have to mount and install an inverter say another $10,000? and if you want battery storage to cover you for a cloudy day add another $10,000 including a charge controller etc Unfortunately that is why PV's are really only economic where the cost of running power to a house is high

I think its closer to 20k. Kyocera 210W panels are ~$600 ea. I'm sure you can get a DC-powered air compressor and negate the 10k inverter all together. But you are still right, its an expensive upfront cost with PVs.

Hmm a 6kw DC motor would be a pretty rare and expensive beast Even at 48volts it's still hefty currents 125amp. Ouch. It's not cheap for PV mountings and wires.

As well you have the "what would the neighbours think" problem with PV's as well. I wanted to ditch a freaking expensive spanish tile roof on a house design go long run steel and put the $25000 savings to PV's

He said 300 bar = 4351 psi (impracticaly imposible)(that pressure is much more dangerous than a large bomb), besides the gage only has as maximum 60 bar, the neddle is pointing to 300 psi (20 bar), probably he made a mouth slip.
