@0CTF0 Yeah I totally agree with you, they could have choose a better voice. In my opinion the german one matches the male Norn pretty well (I think it is the german voice of Ogden Stonehealer).

I cant decide whether to play in english or german both sound really amazing but they also got their highs and downs ;)

The voice acting could be a lot better, It's probably the only really bad thing in this game, it's a shame since it won't be probably changed because we are so close to release.

Guild Wars had a lot of voice acting problems, Its like the actors we're too afraid to scream when something big was going down. I hope if their is a situation in GW2 the actors would have more drama in their voice. :(

The music is epic, the story is epic, the artwork is epic... it could almost be released today and I think people would call it the greatest MMO yet, even if its not quite finished.

That being said, I hope they change the voice for the male Norn intro, it's not gruff enough, you'd think such a large man would have a more gruff and deeper voice.

I always play as a Elementelist. Im thinking about being a Norn/Ele/Raven follower. However, I think Norn are more suited to be Warriers ect, Maybe I'll play as the Sylvari, or even the Norm Humans. Idk yett.

@Killerbot23 If anything, Raven is out of place, Snow Leopards, bears, and wolves all actually live in mountainous regions. I may be wrong but i've never heard of a mountain raven.

@Shadow12000 I'm more talking about the connection with Guild Wars Eye of the North, not the actual realism side of it, I don't remember seeing the Snow Leopard spirit anywhere in Guild Wars EotN, iirc we mostly dealt with Bear, Raven and Wolf, not to mention that there is loads of other Spirits of the Wild such as Ox, Owl, Eagle and Wurm, but I suppose they didn't want to clutter the players with too many spirits to think about.

You should read on GW2 lore.

Snow Leopard has an place because she is one of the four spirits that lived and led the Norn south. If the Eagle spirit survive, even the Eagle Spirit would be one of the Great spirits. Every other spirit got engulfed by Jormag.

@JGBarbarian Yes, I agree, voice acting could really be better, it just doesn't provide enough epicness for norns. Although, I must admit it gave me few shivers and almost a tear in the eye, just that voice isn't fitting too much here. I believe this *is* a placeholder, ANet really got into this one, I am sure they won't let a thing to ruin overall impression.

I don't know why, but whenever I think of the Norn I think of Scandinavians so then the pronunciation of certain names seem rather odd to me. :/ Like Jormag...

I totally agree, luckily i'm from Norway. So I think we pronounce the names more correctly in our Scandinavian languages, than you would in English.

Like in the Dungeon of Ascalon when Rytlock pronounce Eir Stelgakin. Or Jormag as you mentioned.

AreaNet has probably gathered inspiration from Norse mythologi and culture.

@h0rd3ftW The voice clip isn't processed yet. Regina said on the forums that majority of norn demo content was rushed and thus the voices are unenhanced. Once they are done it will sound deeper and more nornish.
