As a dog lover, that is the perfect "happy ending"!! And the music really goes right to the heart... and tear ducts. It was nice to see that I'm not alone and that others also felt this impact of this scene.
I thought I was the only one to feel this way! This episode where Timmy is burying Lassie's toys had made such an impact on me as a child at the age of 10. I rememberd how I cried
with relief when I saw Lassie coming back home. Wow.
I can't believe I'm sitting hear crying over still pictures and a soundtrack. But, I remember this episode and these scenes vividly! TV doesn't have this impact anymore.
I remember watching this on TV in the '70s on local Boston TV in reruns, each part of the 3-parter 3 days in a row, and really bawling when this ending combined with the musical score happened...great find. ;)

I have seen this ending so many times that now just the music makes me cry , and my 'Shawn" as well.
