Question for Islanders fans: do you know why the Islanders had a sudden change of heart about bringing Okposo on board? During the off-season, they actually told him that they wanted him to stay in college, and then out of the blue they bring him on.

They also changed their minds within a day after Chris Simon's 30 game suspension. Any connection? I've been curious about this, but haven't found any info yet.
