I just had to see this after reading about it in Ace's biography. It was a great performance and Gene was an entertaining interviewee.

I think Gene Simmons looks pretty cool. In some ways I think Kiss was cooler when they were a club band maybe would have been better if they were just some weirdo obscure cult rather, like they were in 1974, rather than the multiplatinum stars they became. Just think they had a cooler, retro 70s, faux scary glam look in the early days.

Say what you want about KISS, but this was rock history in the making. For rock music, it had everything. Out in left field looks, catchy, well written rock songs. If you go back to 1974 and listen to rock music from that era,, Im sure this was way ahead of its time. And the added factor, when kids/teens/young adults saw and heard them, they were hooked.
