The 800 mile long pipeline is already built and only less than 80 miles away from ANWR. It's the better way. We should still have more efficient cars built, but this will take a long time to fully implement. Why can't we have both?!

Of course we need more gas efficient cars, electric cars(with nuclear power to charge them), and alternative energy sources. In the mean time we don't need to give our money to the middle east. Save our economy now so we can invest in alternatives! Drill now and at the same time work on alternatives!

Every time we blow money on nuclear instead of a renewable we are sliding backwards. Until one of us figures out what to do with the highly dangerous waste that comes out of these plants none of us have the right to create a new one. If we add the 200 plants that McCaine wants to add where are we going to put this additional waste. We are already running out of space for what we have.

As a leader in nuclear energy, France has developed clean technology for radioactive waste disposal. Reprocessing currently allows France to recover valuable elements from spent fuels and permit a significant reduction of high level waste and lead to safer and optimized containment, for final radioactive waste disposition.

Shamefully enough that the French are ahead of us in anything, this process in illegal in the USA.

It's illegal, so we shouldn't build more plants. My guess is that it's illegal since it costs money and most nuclear power plants are already subsidized upward to 100% This means that the only Nuclear power plants that are ever built are the ones that taxpayers are FORCED TO BUY!

Waste is a sign of poor design. The best energy solutions like wind, solar and wave, don't create waste. That should be our goal.

Saving ecosystems is more important than preventing money from going overseas. Once an ecosystem and its species are gone, it's gone forever. Once you understand the value and services offered by ecosystems, you'd see it's not smart destroying them.

If you don't understand why we need biodiversification, then you should.  When animals go extinct on their own, they are not needed. When WE make them go extinct, WE are destroying our own food supplies. One tiny insignificant creature can completely throw off the balance of the biosphere that feeds us. Then we get into the flora angle where insects/animals keep them alive and then it gets even scarier!

90% of all the worlds animals that are already extinct, why is that? Its Darwin at work and they failed to adapt. Extinction of a specie is a natural part of evolution...

Well for one. 90% of all the animals that ever lived were never alive at the same time. They either failed to adapt or they evolved into something else. If you read my post you'll find that I'm talking about the break-neck speed at which we are MAKING these creatures extinct that is the issue. The ones that WE are killing now! Its a house of cards. I just don't understand why this isn't clear.
