I think i know what happened here, did you build it yourself? if it was pre built did you strip it and rebuild it with thread glue? If one screw comes off that rotor head, it will explode!
it seems like the enigine was having trouble pushing the blades from the beginning and eventually just gave out. Maybe the engine or the connection to rotor was faulty.
it exploded because you were in idle up and had the throttle in the lowest position causing negative pitch forcing the helicopter downward in idle up always keep throttle in the middle idle up alows for inverted flight bacically if your helicopter was upside down then it would have flew sky high begginers should not use idle up and goodluck repairing your lucky nobody died from a stray rotor blade
that wouldnt cause a lipo to blow up either lipos are always under stress espepecily where they are doing 3d just useing the idle up switch wouldnt cause it to blow up more than likely it was a faulty lipo
daaamnit really popped too :( i think the rpm's were too high for woodies mate and would recommend carbon blades for a higher headspeed as they are much better in general
It's sounds like he's got a lot of pitch there at full headspeed.... That will cause a set of wood blades to go kaboom pretty easily. He needs to double check his pitch curves, something's not right there.
exactly, when the pitch increases the rotors push more air down till on point, so how could the pitch increase aand it still be on the ground, u make no sense, go do some resear ch before you talk
i dont know if this is right or wrong ... but i seen another video on you tube tat had a 50 size heli explode too and a lot of people said that he was on negative pitch at full head speed ? i just got a new heli today n wudn like it to explode :p .dont know much about this stuff !
Its because he didn't check the pitch of the blades so the the heli was sucked to the ground which caused ground resonance to vibrate it apart. It can happen to real helicopters too.

why the fuck would you glue the blades to the holders, the blades need to be snug so when in a crash they can move and not snap, and so when you start the motor up and the blades are in the wrong place the momentum will swing the back into place, re4search before you talk, do something stupid as that might as well get 10 more sets of blades
Since your use of inappropriate language suggests a degree of ignorance...
you glue the blade holders into wooden blades with a good strong epoxy, the blade holders then go into the *blade grips* on the head to be bolted in for flight.
i think hes getting the little plastic tabs on the blades mixed up with the blades grips as i did when i 1st read the post lol i was thinking WTF??? then i cottoned on to the parts in question and remembered i used superglue at the time ;) but for the record i dont think carbon blades come with that part which is basicly a shim? hope this is right :D
holy crap cnt see wat in gods name hapeened ther :o lmao its either the battery motor or it look the blades hit sumet most likley the boom wich is bad that looked like a t-rex 450 was it ?

Looks like the head gave out, watch out for very cheap cnc heads, they are cheap for a good reason, they are not strong enough.

It is the pitch that was inverted so he actually pushed it down to the ground :)

why was the blades spinning back and forth instead of one circular motion?
sgtdanny69148 1 year ago
@sgtdanny69148 Because the blades are spinning too fast for the camera to pick up. It's just an optical illusion

what probably happened is the main blades hit the tail boom. when this happens the helicopters looks as if it explodes.

Hi Sammy,
This happened to my copterx heli as well! I will only buy expensive blades from now on, and will throw the wooden ones in the trash can.

Recomending to epoxie the blade grips to the blades before flight.
Also use a tachometer, motor sounds like it is winding up pretty high rpm's.
