  • ???? HAHA

  • i remember singing this in middle school.! love it.!

  • This video seems like it would be much more natural if they were in regular streetclothes, hanging out. Somehow it seems a bit silly in the robes.

  • was josh madine alreaddy there...? i just see tom cully

  • amazing falsetto!

  • LOL AT 0:40

  • @stephenmgf ummmmm why are you laughing?

  • LOL AT 0:50

  • This lot are seriously talented, though the accompaniment was done by a tone deaf chicken by the sounds of it.

  • This is rubbish regarding the accompaniment

  • How old are these boys?

  • This Libera group here collectively has some of the best vocals.... & of course together, but mostly when singing solo leads- their voices are very high pitched(range..) vocals.

  • My chamber choir is doing this :)

but we are doing a collection of songs, and this is the very last :)

  • my choir, who is made up of almost 100 singers ranging in age from 13-18, sing this song very often for Christmas...however these guys are just phenomenal! I love the innocence in them, it goes perfectly with the song! this is great =D

  • I'm so glad that they stopped using the synthesizers...

  • Micheal is super cute :D

  • Tomorrow shall be my dancing day; I would my true love did so chance To see the legend of my play, To call my true love to my dance; Chorus Sing, oh! my love, oh! my love, my love, my love, This have I done for my true love. Then was I born of a virgin pure, Of her I took fleshly substance Thus was I knit to man's nature To call my true love to my dance. Chorus
  • Singing inside a Byzantine-Greek Orthodox Church and dressed as Cathar monks with synthesizer accompaniment. Everything is out of joint. Nice voices, though.

  • 1:48 is a really little Michael Horncastle!

  • who is it at 1:48?

  • his name is michael horncastle, the original soloist of far away

  • o wow yea ure right! haha hes always so smiley in all his vids whn hes younger...and far away is one of my fav songs by them...cheers m8

  • That's make me so happy :)

I'd like sing and dance with them :) So... I'll do it :D

  • Was this sometime back? i've not hear it in their CDs.

  • Echo below. Libera is full of talented boys - at least honor that by giving them an accompaniment that sounds more than befitting a merry-go-round in a 90s Disney movie. Kings' College's setting is even more jovial but far more solemn...a paradoxical conjunction which Libera doesn't seem able to conceive of.

  • yeah, I completely agree, the accompaniment is ridiculous, and they could sound like a proper choir if they had a real accompaniment - I don't think it would make the song more "serious" or churcy, if that's what the directors are worried about

  • It's so pretty- I just wish they'd use a proper piano or organ instead of the crappy, cheesy sounding synthesizer and flute (which I think is synthesized also)

These boys have so much talent and the accompaniment always ruins their songs for me! It makes it sound like department store music...

  • @jennywren413 The 'flute' part is actually panpipes...they sound real. But the synthesizer was beneath Libera's typical standard of quality for sure.

  • i could start start singing this randomly

  • Yes, I know, and i'm not saying that the only suitable voices for carols are children's, I'm just saying that many times adults fail to connect with what they're singing, so I guess when you grow up it's more difficult to connect with your emotions. So, once again this is not a voice problem. It's a matter of interpretation. I know he's a professional and I shouldn't compare others with him, but I really love the feeling that Aled Jones gives to what he sings. And he is an adult.

  • Soooooooo beautiful!

They do sing with all their souls! they really transmit joy when they sing. Joy, innocence and purity. I really like this lively version. I didn't like at all versions of adult choirs. I don't know why but it's happened with every single carol I've heard by Libera and any adult choir. The adults sound so boring! no grace whatsoever to sing. I just can't help to establish comparisons. They have a great deal of learning to do from Libera.

  • lol, Libera has their own beauty of sound that is different from any other choirs. I personally don't like to compare two things that are different and believe that many adult choirs are just as good as Libera but in different ways. After all, the voices of men and women are not to be compared with the voices of children.

  • I understand what you mean, but I can't help feeling that the all adult choirs I'VE HEARD ON YOU TUBE sound boring. Here I'm not establishing comparisons between voices but between INTERPRETATIONS, so I say these children transmit the joy and purity I expect to hear in a carol's interpretation, precisely because they are children. I feel SOME adult singers sometimes forget the emotional part of singing. That's why I say they have a great deal of learning to do from children.

  • I completely understand what you are saying; I think carols like this one, full of joy and happiness is belong to children to sing. I really like Libera's interpretation on many songs. In terms of learning from these children, it is difficult for many adult singers simply because they do not have the voice of children. I recommend you to go to hear some live choir concerts, lots choirs on Youtube are terrible recorded.. I think you would find much more satisfaction if you would hear choirs live.

  • Were dinging this SSAA for choir this year. I love it!(Thyey don't make fleshy substance seem quite as awkward as we do.)

  • It's funny that you say so =]

Because we're doing it in choir as well..

    and having the same problem!

    HaHa!

  • my choir sang this a few years ago.... it means a lot to me that this choir sings it so well!

  • Beautiful

  • Beautiful and uplifting...just one of lots of good stuff that deserves a revisit from the present choir.

  • I've also sun g this!! The whole piece, Dancing Day, was great!

  • check out my choir singing the same song:)

  • They are good, but the video is kind of creepy.

  • they're ridiculously good

  • YES!! MY COIR IS SINGING THIS SONG!! and at the cathedral on Dec 15!! =D

  • mine is too!!

  • They are soo good....my choir is gonna be singing this on dec 3

  • mine is singin it too, but im not too sure when, b4 christmas tho, but i think ours has different tempos and notes, its got 2/2 and 3/4 changes in the oddest places.

  • my choir is singing this song 2!

  • DUDE mine also

    on dec 14

  • yoo so is mine! Dec 7th and 8th. only a much better version.

  • sorry to say, but my madrigals is singing the same tune, but with actual parts and it sounds SOOO much prettier. This is an amazing song though.

  • Religion zombies....

  • Choristers are generally a fairly enlightened lot, because through singing we learn about and understand the church and stuff better than the lazy people out in the congregation :P I'm not religious at all, and I sing in my church's choir because I like the music. I resent people presuming that I'm a fanatic because I sing.

  • Awesome. It's such a catchty tune

  • haha...my choir sang EXACTLY this same version...this is the best version of this i reckon. they have amazing voices but they always sing in such high keys!! (so i can't sing with them without straining:P)

  • cool, vids from libera i havent seen before. thanks from germany chez

  • This is a pretty and unique arrangement of Dancing Day.

I'm always so awestruck with these boys. They're so in tune, their voices are all positively beautiful.. Hello, amazing.
