  • Does the gun still fold and lock with the new sight ?

  • @str19691 Yes.

  • ...you look familiar, you from CT?

  • @sclark1701 Not from CT.

  • Got to wonder about Kel tec and their market product thinking?

The engineering is great, why go cheap on a front & rear sight.

It'll cost using metal less then .35 cents each unit, and still make a profit!

    Great video!

  • @mik22pik I know, it makes no sense. Red Lion doesn't mind that Kel Tec installs those cheap plastic sights!

  • Very informative. What do you think about possibly mounting a red dot or holo sight to the left side on the tactical rail foregrips so that you can still fold it up? You would have to shoot it paintball style.

  • @IWannabeJew Red Lion makes a 90 degree indexing rail so that you can mount an optic and still fold it.

  • They have a quad rail that rotates so you can still fold it. Looks like this gun will cost me around $500 in the end. Ill stick with the Sterling.

  • Nice vid and the sight looks nice. Unfortuneatly I'm struggling to find the gun. Best my local shops will do is put my name on a "list" for a phonecall when they get they're 1 or 2 per year. I'm not holding my breath.

  • @fjeremyu Thanks. Kel Tecs are hard to get for 2 reasons. First off they are a relatively small gun maker by comparison. They out-market their manufacturing capacity. In a way it's good not to expand too much because it keeps quality control better. The second big reason is they will make a run of rifles one week, another run maybe a week or two later, etc. They don't constantly produce all their products concurrently. I was on a year long wait for their RFB. Worth the wait.

  • @fjeremyu Family lives near the plant and I was only able to score one in .40 by going to 3 different places. It isn't easy to get a job, there, either, apparently.

  • for 80 to 90 $ for the open sights id buy a red dot

  • @MYFARTSSMELLLIKEGIGG If your intention is a red dot then yes, buying this sight makes little sense. Since I'm keeping my Sub 2K as an open sight carbine this route works better for me.

  • @MYFARTSSMELLLIKEGIGG Except then you can't fully fold it.

  • @BowsandGuns Thanks, I appreciate it.

  • Excellent video. It still latches and that is awesome. Yes the factory front sight is garbage. Thanks for the info.

  • @SpaceExplorer31 If installed correctly it will latch which is why I liked this sight.

  • @the308capital Oh, man, I thought you were giving away a Kel Tec to celebrate your 2,000th subscriber! - LOL Great video as always, you should have at least 2,000 subs.

  • @Crimble67 Thanks, I might hit 2000 subs in 3 more years at the current rate, assuming people are still interested by then.

  • i want a s2k w/ a quad rail and a lil red dot =)

  • @ViralZombieHunter That seems to be a common setup people have. I like retaining the folding ability and light weight, so no rail or red dot for me with this one.

  • That 90$ sight is a must have add on. I think you spent more time describing your utter disgust and hatred for the factory sight LOL! I don't blame you I hate it too. My current plans are to go with the Redlion sight and replace the AR site post with a Trijicon night sight AR post. Yes they do make those. I also plan to make the same cuts in the extension, but I will add a thin recoil pad to the extension so the front sight locks inside.I can always take the extension off to field strip. Thanks!

  • I wish the adapter was threaded...

  • @ImJacksAmygdala Agreed, but the barrel isn't so it's moot.

  • @the308capital No I misspoke I meant to say that I wished Red Lion manufactured a muzzle device that had threads instead of just the compensator option. This way you would not have to pay a gunsmith extra. The barrel should have been threaded from the factory to be honest.

  • @ImJacksAmygdala I agree. Kel Tec should have threaded the barrel. They do with all their other rifles. Hell, even the PLR-16 pistol has a threaded barrel, why not the sub 2k? I doubt anyone at Kel Tec will see this video and change the design but it would be a nice addition for future production. Threaded barrels give people options and options sell more products.

  • Subscribed BTW thanks for the awesome vids!

  • @ImJacksAmygdala Thanks.

  • nice brother...i like the upgrades

  • @052187ful Thanks, of all my guns I fire this one the most so a good sight upgrade was a must.

  • Great video, man

  • @damarei Thanks.
