Has anyone seen the flip cards in innstrad. I find that that will mess with tournaments seeing as most you have to have non-clear sleeves on your cards. So how are they going to work that into tournaments? otherwise Innistrad looks to be an amazing set

Squadron Hawk, I think, is not "broken" like Evan has it out as. People just sideboard incorrectly against this deck. All squadhawk is is 4 bodies. People sideboard in pyroclasms when they should shatters, etc. Deal with the sword and you've dealt with the deck.

If Caw-Blade is still contesting as the best deck, try a Liquimetal Revel deck on for size! Demolishes Caw-Blade without question, and is extremely customizable to the needs of the suitor.

@mrmitro You really think they want turn two Primeval Titan or Jin-Gitaxias possible? I doubt it. Creatures are too strong for them to feel good about effecient reanimation cards, and they've really shown it from the ones they've put out recently, like the horrible-in-comparison Rise from the Grave. Also, Animate Dead has such a mess of oracle text that it's just not worth the trouble to do a strict reprint. We would be more likely to see Dark Ritual than Animate Dead, and that is NOT happening!

@ColonelSchafer Brainstorm has only been printed in the modern frame in the commander decks, these do not count as legal because they are not part of a set originally printed in the modern frame, as in 8th ed onwards in core sets and mirrodin onwards in block sets. Brainstorm is not legal as it is not in one of the permitted core sets or blocks. There is a full description of the proposed format including a list of banned cards on the official wizards site.

Hawks overpowered? That's a joke. We have probably the best multi target removal cards in recent years like Staggershock. Arc Trail, Consume the Meek, Forked Bolt, BSZ, Pyroclasm and Slagstorm. Hawks die to all those skills and more If they slow it down and only cast one on the board at a time, then who cares? Is anyone really afraid of a 1/1 flyer for 2 mana?

@weihoozie yes but hawks is effectively draw 3, so using a 2 creature removal spell such as arc trail is giving them a net card advantage of 2 cards STILL. And your 2 for 1 is no longer a 2 for 1

Drawing three of the same card isn't the same as drawing three. I understand the advantages of having 3 extra creatures on demand but they do have to back 1w to cast them. This isn't like Bitterblossom. Killing two three hawks with a 2 mana spell still sets them back 4-6 mana. And again, hawks in their hard doesn't really do anything. Is Blightning back in the format that those creature cards in their hand would actually mean somethnig?

Squadron Hawk is overpowered, but WotC had to push it; the last time they did this mechanic, it costed a 1/1 for 3, a 2/2 for 4, and a 4/3 trampler for 6. Now they know that four 1/1 fliers are a little too good for 2 mana.

I'm tired of skipping the first 50-60 seconds of video because of all the crap you put at the beginning. Make the opening 10 seconds long, and just put links to the SCG events in the description bar, no one cares. Squadron Hawk does not give you 4 flyers for 2 mana. It doesn give you 1 flyer and up to 3 cards in your hand.

I don't think Squadron Hawk is overpowered at all. I think in conjunction with good equipment, it's really good, but the problem is SoFaF. If we only had the other two swords and maybe some other equipment, Squadron Hawk would merely be very good.

@Almarad Modern is acctualy 8th forward and Mirrodin forward. So it's actually not just every new border card is legal. Otherwise the Judge promos and FTV sets would make this format awkward (wasteland, onslaught duals, Mox diamond would all be legal)
