  • Thank You, that makes so much sense. I can actually practice one shoulder know. :)

  • Thank you so much for uploading this. I had the same issue as you, I tried to get this trick using SaFire's video and the hoop would always fly off. After seeing your video I was able to get it on the third try. I've been able to nail this trick after one day and it's now one of my favorite tricks to do. You're amazing, thank you!

  • @msamyrose great job!!! You are very welcome im so glad this helped you!

  • Thank you so much! I think i get it now!

But first some more smacking the hoop in my face ;)

  • Maybe now I can get it. thanks so much

  • Thanks for this video!! this is the most frustrating trick for me to learn, now i cant wait to try it again

  • WOW THANK YOU SOOO MUCH IGOT IT RIGHT AWAY . GREAT VID!!

  • yeah!! i got it last wed FINALLY-just took doing it ONCE to get the feel and then i could troubleshoot it sooo much easier. what i found out was-definitely had to move in a circle (I can already do it 50% of the time standing still now) but also i was going TOO FAST. I needed to realllllly slow my rotation down and then find the timing that right before the hoop hit my shoulder, i duck out, if i wait that split second too long, the hoop just slides right off and down and it's gone. i

  • question-what weight hoop do you use? i've been working on this for a while, with all my variety of hoops, and nothing is quite clicking. i do a 44 inch 3/4in 160psi, a 54 inch 3/4in 160psi, a 44in 1/2inch 100psi...nada. ugh!!

  • @choofymama I use all different size hoops! Its goo to learn with variety because they all have different advantages and disadvantages :) Dont get frustrated I promise you will get it in time. You really need to get your shoulder to the right point and keep it still so the hoop can catch and rotate. You will seem stiff at first but later can smooth it out. Practice with a video camera to see what is really happening. Then let me know what you observe!

  • This video helped me so much, *thanks*!!

  • THANK YOU! i have been trying to figure this one out foreverrrrrrrrr. your the best :)

  • I like your teaching style, very helpful! Where'd you get your amazing belt bag?!

  • I actually got the one shoulder trick after a couple of tries, but the following day I lost it. I just haven't been able to do it as consistently. It slips off and goes flying. I'll give this a shot :).

The other problem I'm having that I'm scared to rock my body to keep the momentum, because I don't want to send it flying. By the time I put my head back in, the hoop is moving really slow. It drops to my waist, but I can recover from there. Any suggestions?

  • @Indrina try getting the timing down so you can tilt your head and and then right back in......maybe try some counting one two(drop head) three four (lift head) This kind of flow keeps the momentum going ......so you dont have to rock your body really. It could just be that within time you will smooth out the flow (will also keep the momentum) and move with the hoop which will keep the hoop from falling to low :) be patient with yourself beautiful hooper! Have fun!

  • thanks for the advice =) the grabbing idea is a nice way to think of it!

  • Thank you! That "grabbing the hoop with your shoulder" thing FINALLY let me be able to do this

  • @Cailie89 good job!!!! :) hehe

  • This, I can tell, is going to help me because I have had the exact same problem. Thank you.

  • my hoop is so heavy and bulky that i cant even bring it up =( ive been lookin on different websites for one but i dont know what size and weight i should get!! i want somethin like the hoop in this video..can someone help me outttt pleaseee! =)

  • hey babe! no worries :) you should try to make your own hoops it costs about the same price as a really nice hoop online to buy all the equipment which u could make many hoops with and sell them or give them away! What kind of hoop do you have now? Maybe you should try a 3/4 inch at 100 psi or the one in this video is 1/2 inch tubing at 100 psi. The larger hoop with ligher weight might be best to learn tricks with while 1/2 inch is quick and easy to work with once you know the tricks <3

  • i have a cpl vids on making hoops or you cld look it up online!

  • Thanks so much for this tutorial. Like you the hoop just went flying off whenever I previously tried to do this trick. Your tip to approach it from around the neck and really hook my shoulder were key to my being able to do it. Many thanks again.

P.S. Our kitty Billy looks just like yours.

  • Thanks so much for this video! I was having the same problem as you. Just went outside to try out your tips and I got it! Thank you so so much!

  • Thankyou that really helps I too had the hoop slipping off my shoulder and flying across the room he he. Need more practice to smooth out the bumps. Cheers :)

  • You make some excellent points in this tutorial. We tend to just "LET" transitions occur and then figure it out instead of remaining active with the hoop flow. Thanks for a terrific breakdown.

  • Whooooo Hooooo!!!! I got It!!!!!! It sure doesn't look smooth yet, but I actually did it!! Thanks!!!

  • yaaaaaaaay! im so excited :) mine wasted very smooth either when i first got it but it will get nice and pretty!!! Thanks for the sweet comments Rock on Momma!

  • You blow me away with how much you can do at 10 weeks!!!!!! Thanks for this I was having the same problem with the hoop slipping off my shoulder. I'm going to try this and I'll let you know how it works for me. Thanks!!
