Bonjour Jacques . Tu ne me reconnais peut être pas, je suis Guido ZATILLA, nous nous sommes rencontré 2 fois il y a une vingtaine d'années, à Boulogne en 89 ou 90 et dans le nord. Je t'écoute depuis des années, j'ai d'ailleurs appris sur Vesdre sans Tab puisque je ne l'ai pas. Bravo pour tout ce que tu fais, pour moi tu es un guitariste hors pair. Je suis bien loin de ton niveau, mais j'aimerais interpréter sur youtube certaines de tes compos comme words from the haert, Puis-je? merci .

I remember seeing Jacques playing this in Bath in 2000 or 2001.

He introduced it saying about how he missed his friends when he was touring.

He might be bored playing it over and over by now, but he captured that feeling in a wonderful way here. One of my favourite guitarists (and I've listened to a few)

My compliments. I heard a 14 year old guitarist play this (or part of this, I think) and I was impressed by both the gentle tune and the fact that he figuered it out by himself - by ear.

So thanks to Gilles I'm going to look for more music of this gifted, tasteful guitarist. Mr Stotzem, thank you for sharing this video! And no, I'm not going to try and play it myself. I'm one of those electric barbarians. (And happy with that, too, but I really admire this kind of playing...)

You are absolutely right, sir :-)

I do play more acoustic nowadays, too (guitar, but also mandolin, hurdy-gurdy...), and it has improved my electric playing indeed, but I'd have to unlearn everything and start from scratch to obtain a level of playing like this.

And, like I said, I'm happy with what I'm doing - it's like I can admire Rembrandt without having to learn his painting techniques to enjoy drawing my own cartoons - if you see what I mean.

But - still you're right.

Although luckily I'm blessed with a love for cheap old electric guitars, the ones that usually lost their tremolo arm a long time ago... the ones you might find in charity shops... it's great to make those 'live again'.

Question time! Are most of your songs in standard tuning? I was going crazy a couple months back because I was trying to learn songs with some uncommon (i think) open tunings and my strings started snapping because I change tunings too much :(. It would be so wonderful to learn these pieces and not have to tune them back and forth like crazy!
