Bought this on vinyl in 78. I liked it alot then (this tune in particular) & I think even appreciate it more now. Just another great album by the Best, at what they did. Hopefully....will have the new material to hear in the near future, only hope Tony is going to be able to participate. Best wishes to/for him for sure. Thanks for these uploads......much appreciated.
@kneapoe51 If Tony isn't there the album will be shit it won't be sabbath at all. Even in the late 80's when they produced all of that pop garbage you could always look forward to Tony's Riffs when a Martin Era song would come on the radio.
@Luigi84289 Oh...no doubt, Tony is THE must (if there is one) that has to participate. I just hope he isn't "really" sick...as in dying. I am just hoping he is gonna be alright. It's a given....as you say, that without him....no Sabbath. He was the one it sounded like at the press conference that had done the most of whatever has been done..at that point, anyways. Musically I'm sure plus said the songs were "up to their standards" so...he's gotta beat this. Thanks man.
@AnnaAnnaYes Good comment! Don't forget Boston's "Don't Look Back" and Journey's "Infinity". Oops, also Cheap Trick "Live At The Budokan", AC/DC's "Powerage", and the live "If You Want Blood You Got It", and finally Foreigner's "Double Vision" Hell of a year for albums won't you say?
you just kinda had to be there. I know it holds up pretty well now, but when it came out it was a step backwards for Sabbath. plus there was a lot of other good music to listen to those days. it's not bad music, just doesn't stack up to the rest of the Sabbath catalog.

I believe this song is relevant today because the country is suffering and people are questioning what they were promised. Perhaps a good reason why black sabbath is timeless music. The song sounds gnarly tho.
Bands like Black Sabbath, Led Zeppelin, Pink Floyd, they all aged gracefully. You can hear it in their music, as time went on the style of music changed a little bit but it was still great music no matter what.
@timmycrw91 The reason being that this album, along with Technical Ecstasy were such rapid departures at the time that no one in the industry was accepting of Sabbath "experimenting". NSD and T.E. were not only panned by critics, they were literally savaged at the time as crap. Plus when this album was recorded Disco was enjoying its heyday on FM Radio and sadly no one could stop that trainwreck....Sad too. as both albums are among Sabbaths Finest
@juliano66 Sometimes it feels good, I agree. To know that you're one of the few who knows the good music, that's you're the more experienced and more tasteful one. Yes I mentioned tasteful, because this music goes right into the soul of the ones who know what real music is about.
born in the window nobodys fool raised in this prison you called dude thats is so classic fuck rap cant touch this not even playin music is dead music is all about having nice car and money thats not music your suppose to relate to music and alot of people dont even know how real these basterds r
@Mr1979longhorn The Heaven and Hell album would have been radically different, and most likely not as well received as it was had Ozzy stayed. This album was panned by the critics terribly and upon its release Warner Brothers were already hinting at Iommi to can Osbourne. In the end it turned out ok for both Iommi and Ozzy but at the time of his departure it was a bit of a shock.
I bought "Never Say Die" and Rainbow's "Long Live Rock n Roll" on the same day. Little did I know that a year and a half later Ozzy would go solo and Dio would head up a very different Sabbath in 1980. No matter which Sabbath you prefer they were blessed to have two iconic vocalist during there reign....It was like having dual Black Sabbath's at the same time...I loved it....
I bought this new when it came out in 78..(.saw them that same year in concert with VH,) ...I still love this album just like the day I first heard it. It's really very simple, ALL Sabbath albums with the original members is gold....not just Ozzy...all the members created rock&roll for the masses...Thanks you Black Sabbath.
I truly do not care how much of a slating this album gets, it's one of my favourite Sabbath efforts. See the use of the crash during the verse... goosebumps.
Ozzy the super dynamic

An album like this would have topped the charts in the early 90's as opposed to 1978.
exv092 2 months ago 3
@exv092 Yes,so much interesting music came out in 1978.The Cars,Blondie,DEVO
The Pretenders.Ted Nugent's "State of Shock".The Allman Bros'Enlightened Rogues"
Not to mention Van Halen's Debut Album.Styx and Rush had albums out too. This
album got lost in the shuffle,i believe.

@exv092 In the 70's Sabbath couldn't get any radio air-time. If they where all released today all of their albums would be many times platinum.

@tinfoilhatter You speak a lot of truth. What if Ozzy had been the vocalist thru out
the 80's Randy would have been a star Ozzy or no Ozzy,he would be in the same
place that Joe Satriani is now.But i give Sharon Osbourne(Arden) some credit.Mr
Osbourne would probably be dead were it not for her.
