I am pissed these retarded tests are aloud to be posted. Go watch tnoutdoors9 if you want to know how to scientifically and relevantly test ammunition of various types. I hate you more than Rebecca Black.
@mackm1885 LOL, I must say I did not know who Rebecca Black was till you mentioned her. I had to find out what you were talking about. All in all, if you do not like the vids don't watch. @andreleger2001 ha reading MackM1885's post I literally laughed out loud. I am subscribed to you and Tnoutdoors9 both as I am sure many of his and your subscribers are. And the reason I laughed was that Tnoutdoors9 told people a month or so ago to watch one of your videos on a round he hadn't tried yet and that he saw your testing and was anxious to try it. Every channel has pros and cons hence the reason we are allowed to be subscribed to both of your channels. Keep it up man
@clewi1091 No it’s just some type of plastic cap. There are very few handgun rounds with true 'ballistic tips'. The only one I can think of would be Hornady's LeveRevolution, and even that is not really designed to be a ballistic tip. It serves to protect the primer of the adjacent cartridge in lever action tube fed guns. Handgun rounds simply do not get fast enough to benefit from a ballistic tip.
95 or 85 grain? The title says 95 grain but the lil piece of paper you had at the end said 85 grain. Anyway, dont feed these ammos to your Glocks specially the 4Gen ones.
@kakasanti Wow almost 30k views and your the first one to catch that. Thanks - fixed it. Usually as soon as I put up the vid with an error like that I get a deluge of notices.
If overpenetration in a HD setting is a concern, folks should stick with 12 or 20 gauge with heavy (number 4 or BB) bird shot. Using gimmicky mall ninja pistol ammo as a substitute for proper shot placement is a formula for disaster. If it won't penetrate more than a couple layers of sheetrock, it isn't likely to penetrate a ribcage or skull very well, either, and will only create a gory but shallow wound ... and a lawsuit from a surviving attacker, who sues you for using "inhumane" ammo.
The extreme shock ammo is designed to hit a target and then the tungsten powder inside of it will expand inside of the target(similar to placing a shotgun inside of a target) they also use these in airplanes to limit the danger of the round passing through a target and causing decompression in the aircraft I read this from extreme shocks literature that they sent us I did ask about shooting through glass they claimed that as long as its not bullet resistant or lexan it WILL penetrate
I believe that the round is just a hollow case, shaped like a bullet, but it is filled with very tiny BB's. When it hits the subject the plastic ball forces the BB's out, ripping the bullet shaped skin apart. Amazing design, but don't shoot it through glass, it will not penetrate.
@jomarceloco Any bullet will hurt a lot no matter what it is and what you are wearing. This bullet looks like it would be very ineffective against armored targets (body armor), but looks more lethal against soft targets compared to full metal jacketed bullets.
it seems nobody gets the reasoning for these rounds. they are made to NOT penetrate a wall in your home so when you MISS someone in your home who wakes you up abruptly at 2 am you don't shoot your kids in the next room or it travel outside. these things do release alot of energy though. if someone is rushing you these will knock them back while the next round in your giun is a nice Hollow point. I alternate these but I use magsafe. 1 magsafe then a golden saber then a magsafe then a golden saber
@VDragulaV they are not so much for when u miss b/c they will still penatrate but for when u hit as to not penatrate another wall wich many rounds these days will do especialy with all the +p and +p+
The concept of frangible ammunition is great. Its ability to penetrate and actual disrupt vital organs effectively has not been proven to my knowledge. Does anyone know of conclusive tests on this subject?
A comment about the advice of 4BK or OO in the house (or even slugs). These high powered rounds will not be stopped by most conventional sheet rock if over penetration is your concern. These types of heavy AP rounds are great and should be kept on hand but I would suggest a good field load like 5 or 6 shot makes a more sensible choice if you were to have an encounter in your home with the family home. These hunting loads will be plenty devastating at close quarters.
@arkangel8419It is very light for 9mm. The round is designed to break up fast. I would not use this for self defense since it will not penetrate deep enough to incapacitate effectively. I would surmise that they would work great on small rodents like raccoons.
@andreleger2001 i remembered reading some where that i think it was test for use by pilots on commercial air planes to help fight hijackers i think i dont know that ever happened
@pigman027 On more than one occasion during these tests the gun was completely soaked in water. I dried it off with a towel in between tests and it kept ticking. I did not forget to clean it afterwards so no rust.
@RoyalAlba1 It would create a bad surface wound. If the perp is whacked out on drugs it will not reliably stop them. In order to do that you need enough penetration to hit vitals. This test does not show how deep the rounds penetrate, but from everything I have seen I would not use them for self defense. I like light and fast, but this round is too light IMO.
@andreleger2001@andreleger2001@andreleger2001 i thought that the point of the round was energy transfer its supposed to transfer 100% of its energy or almost that much anyways but the energy is supposed to cause hydrolic shock in body fluids with then hits the organs wich causes them to go into shock the problem i thought was the lack of or minimal exit wound which means they dont realy bleed out
the character count isnt workin so ima finish in a second responce to make sure
but the water in that jug did bounce back to ur face so it looks like it does transfer energy well idk if they dont penatrate enough but on balistics gelaitne they penatrate pretty well but i think the 45 is a better load for these but i think they would be good for home defense since are alomst designed to not go through a sheet rock wall after exiting a person so u dont have to worry about hurting family and stuff
@bobwatters While I'm sure getting hit by one would be unpleasant, and would likely stop an attack, I personally would rather use a traditional JHP with more momentum. If the perp is hopped up on drugs and doesnt feel the hit, the only think that will reliably stop him would be a CNS hit or a bleed out. I just don't think these would get deep enough to do the job. I'm sure most of the time they would work great; I am personally not going to take that chance.
@andreleger2001 idk i mean i would rather use a ranger t but at home i think they would be good especialy if u have kids at home
but i think u would feel this round since it transfers all the energy it would be like gettin hit by a truck if its a 45 round none of the energy is wasted i think the bleed out is the main problem b/c it has to knock u off ur feet to have the entire energy from a 45acp round disipate in u
@bobwatters If the .45 ACP had enough energy to knock the target off your feet, the shooter would also be knocked off his feet. I have no doubt this would leave a nasty wound, and your right about dumping energy into the target. There is debate as to weather the energy dump does anything to the tissue in the temporary stretch cavity with handgun loads. With rifle loads there is something to the hydrostatic shock effect but the results are inconsistent from what I have read.
@bobwattersI think any round from a 9mm is going to get their attention in short order regardless of its weight. I am certainly not an expert by any means. I personally carry Ranger-T 127 +P+ rounds in my 9mm when I carry an auto. Another thing to think about is the reliability of these rounds. Will such a light bullet cycle the slide each time? Do you have the money to test a hundred rounds of this boutique ammo?
@andreleger2001@andreleger2001 no i do not have the money to test it i wish someone on yourtube did so i could just watch it lol
idk i guess i might just like the idea of the rounds i would definatly carry ranger t +p before this round or maybe those expanding full metal jackets i think they might be federal rounds but still tempting as a purley home defense round b/c they are supposed to be safe
@bobwatters How about this: Home invasion, bad guy sees you have a gun and jumps behind your sofa as you open fire on him. Are these rounds going to make it though the sofa and still have enough energy do stop the attacker? Any round with enough oomph to reliably stop someone will go though walls as well. You just have to think about any potential misses and what is behind your target before you make the shot. In a lighter note I bet this round would do great on raccoons!
@andreleger2001 thats true i didnt think about that but then on that note i think the efmj's would be the best thats pretty much what they are designed for to go through objects and still expand reliably
but idk for home defense im usin one of my ar15's or 12 gauges anyways
@bobwatters 12 gauge would be my first choice in home defense. (Loaded with 4 buck or 00 buck - slugs maybe in a sidesaddle) I use a .38 Special for a house gun simply because its what my wife knows how to use best. But there is a shotgun ready to go when Im home. An AR-15 going off in the house would be deafening (at least louder than a shotgun in my opinion). But either one is better than a handgun any day.
@andreleger2001 lol yea im pretty sure the ar would have my ears ringing for a good while especialy since my house is almost all tile but yea nothin but the 00 buck shot in 3 inch mags for home defense
