Whether the dog is in pain or not, you are still doing this for aesthetic purposes. Getting your dog fixed is more important and even if it is the lesser of evil, it's still not as wrong as doing this for cosmetic purposes. Why get an animal if you don't want it to be an animal ? Why not go out and get a robotic dog, instead?

Cropping ears is cosmetic, and wether people get ot done to look bad ass or for tradition, its completely their choice. The way i see it, the dog was sleeping while he/she got i done, cruel would be if they held it down while being awake and did it.

While Ear cropping and Tail docking just a "beauty" thing is! There is NO medical benefit for the animal, it is actually bad for them! Every surgery is a risk, cropping ears MAYBE can improve hearing but if they are cut too short(like they often do it on Pit Bulls) -

The way I see it, your perception is from a limited view point because you are not a vet. Just because something is legal, doesn't mean it's right or safe. For example, cigarettes and alcohol.

All you know is how you want the dog to "look like." Dog has not training if you have to PUSH her butt to the floor, use all your weight on the other end of the leash to get her to stay, and so forth. No matter "how excited" a dog is, they should listen. Seems she isn't socialized with other dogs either if you can't have her around others. So sad this could have been an ambassador but is no where near that. Should have spent the money on training, not wasting it on making her "look badass."

there is nothing wrong with cropping a dogs ears people! it causes them alot less pain than having them spayed or neutered and erect ears ARE natural! look at wild dog breeds. not a single one has floppy ears. floppy ears where bred into domestic dogs for looks and are the cause of alot of ear infections.

I can't believe you're condemning something you obviously know NOTHING about! The age for cropping depends on many factors. In Pits, they have short natural ears with substantial cartledge and can be cropped far later than some breeds.
