This Sd. Kfz 251 is in Czech republic and Slovakia called HAKL. It is so awesome, i really love design of it. Less rare but very similar is Czechoslovak transporter OT 810. After WWII we used design of german technics in HAKL but also in Avia S 199- Messerschmit Bf 109

We used to have two parked like brand new looking half-tracks with Tatra engines which had German cross painted over but still visible at our military base in Czechoslovakia back in 1988.

What a memories, both painted dark yellow with black wheels/tracks and were pulled out of garages only about two times a year and it was absolutely delight listening to Tatra running engines and sitting inside in the front and in the back ;)

I have no idea what happened to them after 1989 pink revolution.

@ChampionFx yes , my mate was tankist (T55) in 88 too .........no idea what happened to them after velvet revolution , i'd guess most of them were sold out or landed in scrapyards

scrapyards would have been indeed a very sad ending for such an excellent condition half tracks ;(

It was already enough when they were removing legendary T-34's for scrapyards destination .

Some of them were thankfully saved but not all of them were so lucky .

How in the world did they come up with such a dumb decision anyway ? ;)

@ChampionFx well i don't know how in other countries but here in czech rep. were kept just "needed" pieces , rest of metal were reused when building new towns and factories destroyed during war. nobody realy cared about museums .... as people needed to live, eat etc.
