To TheHeartless09 ~ Actually, I had a problem with both instances. Jeff really should've held the title longer (at least more than the 3 minutes he was champ), and instead of Punk cashing in the MotB like he did, he could've cashed it in like RVD did against Cena. That would've been a great "face vs. face" match (though maybe not as epic as Hogan-Warrior), and would've made more sense, since Punk actually went through that Strap Match with Umaga the same night.

If Edge goes through with the face turn he hinted at the last time he was on Smackdown, that's the sort of move that would solidify it.

But, who knows who could be in main event status come next Wrestlemania? Guys like Morrison, MVP, Swagger, Bourne, even Christian (if he gets off of ECW) could be in the running for the Big Gold Belt (but not the WWE title; that belongs solely to Orton, HHH, Batista, and Cena).

Oh, and once again, WWE f*cks up another chance to breed a great heel champion. They did it at Wrestlemania when Orton should've beaten Triple H; and now they did it here by (once again) making CM Punk look like a f*cking pussy.

Now, imagine Punk pulled an HBK to Jeff's Batista, feigning another eye injury after the G2S kick-out or the Twist of Fate, causing a distraction long enough to hit another G2S or roll up Jeff and pull the tights. That would solidify Punk as a true heel champion, and he could go on Smackdown saying something like "Unlike Jeff, I'll hold on to this belt by whatever means and for longer than 3 minutes."

Now THAT would draw some serious heat, and easily continues this fresh new feud.

Actually, I don't. But, what I meant was that he could add on to his list of insults. Since Punk is supposed to be the "righteous" heel, he can say that he's willing to do whatever it takes to make sure that "scum" like Jeff don't become a role model for the next generation. For example, Punk can say something like "The kids shouldn't look up to a champion who can't stay clean for ten minutes...or even hold on to the title for five!"

In the end, Punk should've been champion longer than just a few weeks, especially with the matches he was in as champion. In his first title defense, he waited to for Jeff to hit the Swanton on Edge, pulled him out of the ring, and pinned Edge himself. And that was his only victory as champion! He lost to Morrison twice in a row, lost to Jeff by DQ, was beat in the tag match when Jeff walked out on him, and finally lost to Jeff clean after his finisher failed to do the job while Hardy's did.

Why do you think people were so pissed when Orton lost to Triple H at Wrestlemania 25 (besides the fact that they've seen this match WAY too much already)? Because Orton should've won; he won the Rumble, was built up like crazy to be the top heel of the company, only to get beat. Of course, they did put the belt on Orton at Backlash, and now look. He's a credible heel champion, not above cheating or using Legacy to hold on to what really matters, the WWE Title.
