@scoobie1138 I don't remember. Its probably mostly one layer. Even when I paint on several layers I try to compress them all back into one whenever I can. I probably painted the hair on a separate layer from the body.
I'm self tought. The most important thing when learning digital painting is to have a good understanding of Photoshop. How does it operate, and what are it's limitations. I learned how to digitally paint mostly by looking at step by step guides, but mainly through watching other time-lapse paintings on YouTube. I combined what I saw to make my own technique. I've only been doing this a year, so I'm not really good enough to give out advice. Hope that helps.
i wanna do stuff like this too. too bad i havent got a wacom. i rly was talented before then since i stoped school i couldent get any eqipment too keep doing this. :(
Well the video was two and a half hours long before I increased the speed. When you take into account all the times the video was paused (while I looked at the reference Pic etc) the whole thing probably took close to three hours, spread over two days
Damn man. thats some real skill right there! im taking a digital photography class in school.... IM HORRIBLE. we often times have to edit large scale pictures... im terrible! hahaha! i could only imagine how much skill and patience this takes!! Well done buddy :)
@nowedarkstar96 Thanks. Knowing photoshop well helps, but it isn't essential. I only use a handful of different tools when digitally painting (brush, layers, eraser, blur/smudge, and dodge/burn mainly).
Just out of curiosity is this a single later painting or do you use multiple layers?

Great digital painting; it would've been damn near perfect but you had to ruin it by giving her clothes. lol XD
